Was Joe Biden At The MK Today?!

I get stopped by the VP's motorcade on my way to work here in Washington a few times a month. I drive right by the Naval Observatory (where the VP residence is located) both directions each day. It is a scene each time. Very smooth, but lots of backed-up traffic. Doesn't usually last more than 10 minutes or so, but when I have a meeting in the morning, or I REALLY want to be home after work it isn't fun.

We also get to see the Biden's dogs out playing in the "yard" sometimes, which is always a treat.

For what its worth, I think the Naval Observatory tour is the best here in Washington, followed second by the Capital Building. It is a pain to get the tour of the Naval Observatory, but if you get the opportunity, I highly recommend it.

And I do hope he got time to visit HoP. I wish they all got time to visit HoP...and the American Adventure while they are at it. Day to day life here gets pretty dour, so a little boost of inspiration into the daily life of a public servant and politician is a good thing.

So for people not familiar with how protection works in these circumstances, most guests would never notice or be inconvenienced. He'd be back-door'd into any attraction and any on-stage time would be minimized.

It is highly unlikley that security would let him roam around the park, however if you see 4 guys in suits escorting around a grandpa looking guy with bright white sneakers, pulled up socks and bermuda shorts.... there's a chance that was him.

Its just the same as any VIP that comes to the park. Accommodations are made - guests dont notice.

This. 100 times over. Do people really think he walks into a ride and shuts down the entire building? That would only cause MORE security concerns as it would out where he was...

I mean, do people really think that a major politician would openly walk around like a guest? He probably wouldnt get mobbed like a movie star or something, but ScarJo seems to go to Epcot quite a bit, totally incognito.

Yeah - it's a funny process because they walk around during campaign cycles. I'd imagine Disney is relatively safe with at least a bag check, which doesn't happen at most campaign stops.

Can I ask what time? I was in MK between 9 and 1 yesterday before catching the plane back to CT. Notice a few helicopter flying low over the park ( one on coming back from Comtemptary)

Not that one person's experience is gospel, but I was in the park from 8-8 yesterday and never would have guessed anything peculiar was going on.

I wondered if he visits The Hall of Presidents? ;)
No, he visits The Hall of Vice-Presidents.

It's right behind THoP and requires an "A" ticket.

What? You've never heard of it, you say? Neither have most people heard of who the attraction portrays. It's a real snooze fest as they are all capable of boring you to tears with their stories of their grand-children's accomplishments.

I was walking back to my car at the Contemporary just around 12:30 and that's when they arrived. Who knows what time it was before they actually got into the park.

NOTE: The music played as you enter the theater to see The American Adventure is called "Hail Columbia." It is the march played on official occasions (such as an inauguration) for the Vice President.
