Want To Work At DW

Just a few ?'s. I'm new to the forums so forgive me if these have been covered in other threads. I have become very bored with my life here(Indiana) and need to do something to shake it up. Since I've got nothing tying me down(no wife, no girlfriend, no kids), I think it would be a great time for me to try to fulfill a dream of mine. I am very interested in working at Disney World. However, I have heard that it is very difficult for non-Florida residents to get a job there. Does anyone know how true this is. In all likelihood if I applied, it would be in the fall, since I'm sure most of the employees for the summer are through the college program. Does anyone know when they start the hiring process for the fall? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean the hiring for the College Program? or just normal Part Time, Full Time?

They will interview you the sooner you dial the phone..of course you would have to move down here first. So call the number and ask if they take out-of-state residents, and if they don't move down here then go apply.

If you just want to experience working at WDW for a while, and you aren't particular about which role, my suggestion would be just to come down whenever, see what's available.

But do a budget first! Entry-level jobs at WDW are not enough for an individual to pay rent, car payment, insurance, clothes and food. In figuring that budget, remember that you'll probably average about 36 hours per week... not 40... and even at those wages income taxes and FICA will be deducted.

Also, even WDW's great medical/dental coverage requires some premium and co-pays.

Working anywhere and not making a living is not fun.

If you can house/apartment share, and your car is paid off, and you have no credit card bills, the picture gets a little brighter.
