I have a Kodak "EasyShare" CX6330.... it's a great digital camera for a first timer. Anyway I have a BUNCH of video clips of different goodies from around WDW, that I took with this camera. There are in .MOV format and are HUGE files even the ones that are one minute in length.
Anyone who can recommend a program to help make these files smiler and easier to send through e-mail will be my knight or knightess in shining armor.

Thanks!

Wish I could help, but .mov is the Apple format, so everything I use and know won't work with it (I just tried).

I'll be interested to see if anyone knows of such a program (preferably free rather than buying something from Apple)

I use TMPGEnc to convert MOV to MPEG... strange it only works on my W98 machine, not XP. Must be codecs, even though Quicktime is on both machines...

That would not be the only program I've come across that works on Windows machines prior to XP.

is it really, that's funny, I had no idea. My computer is not an apple....
Well, the format is by Apple, but is of course used on all platforms. I just tried downloading the software Marni mentioned, but the new version does not seem to want to work with .mov.

What software came with the camera? There may be something hidden in then to bring down file sizes.

I knew I had something else - mov2avi, a little `no frills` utility. As you probably guessed it converts .mov to .avi and works under XP. I then use TMPGEnc (free) or Directconvert (pay) to convert to MPEG if the file size is too unweidly. Get mov2avi from www.dvdrhelp.com and also install mov2aviGUI for an easy to use front end.

Wow I think that will work, I will get my fiance to look into it, thanks Marni... I want to be able to send them through e-mail to anyone on here that wants them...
