Want to do something special for my nephew

Hello,
I'm new here. I started going to Disney about 6 years ago and have been back 5 times since and am going back this October. For this trip, we have 8 of us going. Me, my husband, 3 friends, sister in law, nephew (8) and my daughter (2).
That said, About a month ago my brother in law unexpected passed away from a brain aneurysm. We took a family trip with him and his family last March and had a blast. My brother had never really traveled and had so much fun and said he'd really like to come back during Halloween...we'll he never made it. I'd like to find a way to do something special for my nephew that he'll never forget. Any ideas? I need some pixie dust :p

So sorry for your loss...but glad that you all can heal together with family time in Disney.

Well Halloween is a wonderful time of year to go. Magic Kingdom is all decked out in fall décor! If it fits your schedule and budget, I'd recommend buying tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party one night! Get the kids costumed up as their favorite characters, trick-or-treat in the parks, watch amazing/exclusive fireworks and parade, all in a not-as-crowded Magic Kingdom.

I've been stewing about that and the more I read about, the more I think its great idea. Thank you for the suggestion. I also just read we can get a military discount for that, as well ...extra bonus!

Yeah, the price isn't exactly the most wallet-friendly, so any discount helps! If you have your schedule laid out, see if you can go on a weekday as opposed to weekend...usually less crowded. Also, party dates tend to sell out the closer the date is to actual Halloween Day itself. Have fun planning and think of some great group costume ideas! :)

While I agree the MNSSHP is a great idea as well. Did your Brother In Law have a favorite Character/ride from the previous trip or was there a special picture of him and his son from the previous trip. Maybe get the image put on a T-Shirt that his son can where. The if it is a special place you can take photos in that same location, or if it is a character having that character sign the shirt. Not super magical, but it might be a neat remembrance for him and the shirt and photo could then be framed and he can have it in his room to remember.

So if he is 8 then you could let him do one of the Pirate Adventures at one of the resorts, sign him up for Jedi Training at MGM, bring him to get his hair cut at Harmony Barber Shop. If he is a tea and crumpet type of kid then have tea with Alice and Mad Hatter at Grand Floridian.
