Want Star Wars Magic Band

I'm a sucker and I'm willing to pay a little bit for the Limited Edition Star Wars bands on Ebay. However, I only want one if I can actually use it as my MagicBand. From what I understand is if the seller has deactivated it from their own Disney account, I can activate it under my account. Many of the auctions state the bands are for collector purpose only. So what is the real truth here? How can I purchase the band and then use it as my own? What do I look for in the auction description?

No, a Magic Band cannot be un-tied from a user. It can only be deactivated, which means it's just turned off (primarily in case you lose one). But it remains tied to that user's account.

Magic Bands, if sold, can not be tied to another person's account, at all. So, if you buy one, it will forever be linked to the seller.

Thanks Tom. I was afraid of that answer. I'm glad I asked the group prior to spending the $50 on a brick Darth Vader Magic Band that I couldn't use as my own.
