Technically Saratoga Springs is a Deluxe Villa resort. The rooms will be about 10% bigger than Riverside rooms and a teensy bit less large (but still larger) than CB rooms. Riverside, like Saratoga, has boat access to Disney Springs, but large chunks of Saratoga is also within walking distance, so if location to Disney Springs is an issue, Saratoga also has an advantage there. Depending on where you stay at Saratoga, it might be just as easy to walk over and get a quick counter service meal at Disney Springs as it would be to go to the Carriage House to go to the Artists' Palette food court.

All of the resorts' rooms will have a small fridge and a coffeemaker. Saratoga will also have a microwave. Saratoga rooms might also have other amenities the other resorts won't have. For example - I don't think moderate resorts have DVD players attached to the TV; Saratoga rooms have DVD players. I've no idea if that's a deal breaker for anyone. Because of the microwave, Saratoga technically has a "kitchenette" and provides some plates and cutlery albeit plastic (the larger Saratoga rooms have actual dishware and cutlery because the full kitchens include a dishwasher).

All of the resorts have at least one elaborate pool (Saratoga has 2), and they all also have a number of smaller quiet pools (I think caribbean has the most).

All of the resorts have huge grounds. At peak capacity (assuming 4 people in any mod room or Saratoga studios or 1BR units, 8 people in a Saratoga 2BR unit, 9 people in a Treehouse Villa and 12 in a Saratoga 3BR Villa), Saratoga could have over 5000 guests. CB, nearly 8500 guests, Riverside around 8200.

As an adult I prefer Saratoga, but I suspect smaller kids would prefer either of the mods. The theming is more pronounced in those resorts.

If moderate, POR is my choice. OP, are you looking at a studio at Saratoga Springs? Have you looked at a studio at Old Key West? You can also take a boat to Disney Springs from that resort. Unlike other DVC studios, OKW has two queen (or are they full, can't remember) beds instead of one queen and a sleeper sofa. Plus a large bathroom and kitchenette with larger frig, microwave and toaster, in addition to the coffeemaker. However, neither OKW nor Caribbean Beach resorts have elevators. And the Alligator Bayou portion of POR doesn't either. Two stories without an elevator is okay, but OKW has three story buildings, which makes it fun dragging luggage and strollers up three flights of stairs.

I really love CBR's theming and ambiance. Don't love its bus and "size of resort" issues, but I can look past it.

Given the choices, my pick is PORS. I've stayed in Alligator Bayou. Very rustic. I liked it. I hear greaat things about Magnolia Mansions, though.

There are 2 moderate resorts and 1 deluxe. It is hard to compare the three equally. If it were me, I would go SSR, POR, and CBR. However, Coronado is the best of the Moderates in my opinion and as good as SSR.

Maybe you meant Coronado Springs? Saratoga Springs is a Deluxe DVC resort having studio, one and two bedrooms and a Grand Villa (three bedrooms). Coronado Springs is a moderate resort. Yes, if SS is in the budget I would pick that (or better yet rent DVC points through Dvcrentalstore.com and stay at SS much cheaper than paying through Disney. I rent points and have stayed at SS three times, AKL once).

If you are sticking to a moderate resort then I would actually recommend (like a lot of others are doing) Port Orleans French Quarter. It is the smallest resort of all, has only one bus stop while all the other mods PORS, CBR, CS have multiple bus stops due to resort size. POFQ is right next to PORS and they share the same boat transportation to Disney Springs.

Let me also point out, if you stay at POFQ you really don't need to think about getting a preferred room (usually chosen for their close proximity to food, pool or transportation) as even the standard rooms at POFQ are close to the main building, bus and pool. You would only need to decide view (parking lot, garden or water) and lets be honest, with Value and Moderates not having a balcony, there is little incentive to pick the better view when you will only see it when you open your door to go somewhere:)

Have stayed many times at PORS (I still think of it as Dixie Landings), and have never had a problem. Have stayed in Alligator Bayou section, but always ended being very far away from everything. Love the Magnolia Mansions section, and have been in buildings a bridge away from the pool and/or main building.

I loved POFQ when I was there last. Somehow my BFF and I always wound up behind this adorable older couple holding hands on the way to breakfast. :inlove::inlove:

This time I'm trying POR. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I must have missed where you complained to OP about how this poll doesn't allow choices for all mid-level resorts.
