Does it really matter to people that much what the majority opinion is? At the end of the day, Disney's gonna do what Disney's gonna do. If nothing else, the weekly stories on the show offer free publicity. They gain nothing by dumping all episodes at once.

Also, the weekly schedule is important at the moment as it gives Disney+ perceived value. Imagine if they released the Mandalorian and Wandavision episodes all at once? It would emphasize how little original content the service has. Netflix can release entire seasons at once because they have new shows debuting frequently. They don't need to pad the schedule, so to speak.

There's no reason for Disney to change things unless people cancel in mass numbers and explicitly cite weekly releases as their reason for doing so. That won't happen, because as we've seen demonstrated on these boards, two things are constant in life: Disney fans will complain and Disney fans will keep paying.

On a related note, I hope they change up the release schedule to debut shows in the early evening. I've seen people complain that it's hard to avoid spoilers, just from waiting until Friday evening to watch the show. Release the episodes at 6:00 or something, midnight makes no sense. Right now, a weekend release is okay because we're not going out, but post-COVID I'd like to see the shows release on Wednesday or Thursday evenings at 6:00 or so.

Yes. It matters.

The whole point of moving to streaming was to break away from from the restrictions of cable. People wanted more choice to watch how they want to watch. Now we're being forced back into the old ways with week to week its kind of ridiculous and defeats the whole purpose of streaming. They might as well broadcast the Marvel shows on ABC or something if their going to week to week.

There’s not enough new content to binge a series.

I really don’t get why you want the experience to be over so quickly.

We just started The Expanse. We are years behind and yet we take it slowly to enjoy it.

As I've said before, I like the weekly releases. Definitely more fun and easier to take in and avoid spoilers.

But in terms of Disney+ and it's content, my bigger complaint would be that I'd like to see them start releasing more than one high profile series at a time. I would guess we'll eventually get there, but it would be nice to have an MCU show and a Star Wars show or other bigger programming every week to look forward to.

I've mentioned this in another thread, but with regard to MCU content, there will probably only be 4 or 5 Fridays in this year in which a new MCU episode isn't premiering (between WandaVision, Falcon, What If, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel). Not to mention the theatrical releases of Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and Eternals that will wind up on D+.

Disney needs to make a deal with Sony to allow the Sony Spider-verse to wind up on D+.

It'll be the same in 2022, only add in all the Star Wars series that will also be dominating almost every Friday.

A slow burn like WandaVision would have been a better choice for binge. Disney clearly knew this to some extent when they let critics watch episodes 1-3 at once and had a double episode premier.

Imagine if the first episode was all anyone got for the first week. Would reviews or interest been as strong? Probably not.

But we know the overall lack of original, serial content on Disney+ is why they wanted to space it out.

I voted for binge on this show. I like the weekly aspect from a spoiler aspect and a discussion aspect as well. But this show just feels right to binge to me. I'm fine with the decision for week to week, but I wouldn't have said no to them dropping it at once.

This might be where my big issue is. If they were dropping a few different shows, on different days of the week, maybe that would be different. As of now, I really only watch D+ on Friday and there just isn't a ton of new content to make me not care I have to wait a week for the next episode.

Rotten Tomatoes tracks about 20 critics' scores which are so far per episode:

1. 75
2. 80
3. 74
4. 81
5. 86

Over at IMDB, they keep track of the user scores. There are 9-13 thousand reviewers per episode, and their scores are:

1. 75
2. 79
3. 83
4. 91
5. 94
