Walt & "the Property"

Yesterday, I overheard someone say that Walt never stepped foot onto the Florida property but only flew over it in a plane. I always assumed that Walt HAD visited the property. Can anyone confirm which it was?

That's what I thought but he was well-versed in WDW trivia. As it turns out, he was just a member if these forums.:lol:

I think he did. He had to to see if the land was really suitable.

There's a picture of Walt on the Florida property with Roy, Card Walker and Joe Fowler in my Bob Thomas biography of Walt. So he was there all right.

But man, does he look awful in that picture. So drawn and gray. He was very ill then...

That photo was taken in 1967, which is one year after Walt died.
