I heard that they had originally "cast" the singing busts (in the movie) as Thurl Ravenscroft, imagineers Marc Davis and Blaine Gibson, and Walt Disney. Featured in the actual ride, Thurl Ravenscroft, aka "Tony the Tiger", is often mistaken as Walt Disney. In the movie, they eventually decided that having Walt Disney would be too distracting from the movie. It was also decided that Blaine Gibson and Marc Davis looked too "normal". So, in the movie, I think there are two busts from the attraction (one of them being Thurl), and two new ones (beard and mutton chops) That website might have heard that Walt would be a bust, and mistaken the Bust of Thurl Ravenscroft as Walt. I had also heard that the bust of Walt that was never used would be presented to Roy Disney.......

Also, check out the book, "The Haunted Mansion, from the Magic Kingdom to the Movies." It has pictures of the busts and lots of cool info.

Here's a link to a picture of the busts in the movie. These weren't in the final film-only the one on the far right was used, I think. Is he the one you thought was Walt Disney? (left to right: Blaine Gibson; one from ride?; Marc Davis; Thurl Ravenscroft.)
