Walt Disney World Video Game

Main Street USA

I've always thought that it would be cool if they designed a game based on the Walt Disney World Resort that utilizes a virtual environment. just the ability to move around through a virtual environment.

I think that it would be really cool just to be able to navigate around the parks and "ride" the rides.

The Main Street USA section of the Magic Kingdom opens on February 28th, at 9:00 PM EST. If all goes well, the rest of the lands will follow. Click the link below for the description. There will also be a sample screenshot up this evening.

Keep in mind that this is the first time this has been tried on the web, and it's my second attempt at a website, at that. When finished, it will incorporate over 1700 navigational pics, and over 600 ride pics to allow you to roam about the park at your own free will. There will also be a newly, never before used ride video system that will be used for two or three attractions once those parts of the park open.

I also remember that another member of these boards (Digital Disney) was building a 3D WDW Resort, and was doing a damn good job of it.

Adventures In The Magic Kingdom! Thats the best game, everyone should go check it out! I STILL play it on my original nintendo (never really took to things like X-Box and PS2). I'm sure you've probably all heard of this game before, but you get to go through rides like the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain, and also answer trivia questions, which is fun.

I will also support that motion! I loved the game and that link just brought back a world of memories. I'd still be playing it on my old NES if my old NES still worked.

I also had the GBC Virtual Racing Tour game. It was fun, but not as good as the NES game, IMO. Perhaps the PC, PS, or Dreamcast versions were better? I didn't have any of those, (well I had a PC, but it was an older one that couldn't play any of the "current" games) so the GBC one was the only option at the time.

The Ultimate Ride game just wasn't really all that apealing to me. I gave it to my brother for Christmas in 2002 and played it a few times. Not really what I had been looking for. I would love to see something more like RCT come out for Disney.

Can't wait for the new online virtual game to debut. I know it's aimed at teens, but I'll still be definitely checking it out. Looks great!

Sim City WDW

I always thought it would be cool to do a WDW type game that is based off of Sim City. You would get money to start. Based on how well the "Sims" like the park, the more money you would get to build expansions. For example, you start off with building the Magic Kingdon, once more money is made, you can expand to add Space Mountain. Once enough money is made you could create EPCOT but to you specifications. If you want to expand the monorail to Animal Kingdom, you can do so.

I might try to do something like that with my version of Sim City at home. :p

Take care,
Greg

There is a cart racing type game for playstation where you get to race through a bunch of different rides. You can't race a mickey though:(

>_> my obsession with that game has ended as of today!! :lookaroun *goes and plays another 5 hours or so*

*coughs* YEAH!! That game has such cheesy graphics and they could've done better and they didn't exactly cover all the rides in perfect detail but it was neat. They did copy the concept of mario cart though with the nuts and the teacup and the balloons. =) Fun game though. I haven't been able to put it down for a while now ever since I downloaded it for my ps.

I thought the Haunted Mansion race track was the most detailed of all... It had much in it... Too bad no one will remake that game..

i am going to love this virtual magic kingdom..can't wait!
Thanks, guys and gals. I'm working hard to get Main Street USA open by the 28th!

As for a Disney Theme Park Game like Sim City, I can only pray they don't come out with that. I'd become a computer zombie, my business would go right down the tubes, my marriage would end, and my dog would starve. Can you imagine how successful that game would be if it was accurate to WDW's layout? Man.....

How much will it cost to play ?
It looks like coke music or habbo hotel a little bit.
I think I read some where it was free... So dont worry about the price. Unless it becomes exetremely popluar... They said it will be free because of all the ads that pop up.

That idea is similar to the Universal Studios Theme Park Adventure game for Nintendo Gamecube. You basically roam around Universal Studios Japan and the rides each have a mini-game. You beat the games for points to buy accessories for your character and to go on the attractions (each attraction costs a certain amount of points). Points can also be earned by picking up garbage and throwing it away, along with answering Universal movie related trivia.

It's gotten some pretty bad reviews but I've found it to be a fun game. I do believe that Disney should do something like this or of the RCT2 sort.

The Universal game wasn't too bad at all.. I felt it was underrated, it could of been better but it was ok. A WDW version would be awesome, I always thought of a game like that since I first played the SNES.

If I can recall... There actully another Disney Ride related game... But it was only released in Japan, for tokyo disney. You can play as mickey mouse and it was a side scroller game just like the magic kingdom game. Remember the Haunted Mansion level in the NES game? It is almost like that...

I think it would be a great idea if they had a computer game that was about Walt Disney World. I know there was a roller coaster game already about imagineering, but that game was way too unrealistic.

My idea would be a game simillar to Roller Coaster Tycoon but Disney Style. Instead of having gentle rides the category can be Dark rides. Another idea is that u have to make a resort not just one park.

I want to know if any of you have any ideas for this videogame or any rumors of anyone making this.

lol they had an MK video game for the 8bit NES years & years ago! it had space mountain & the castle and mickey was supposed to go around and i think collect keys. it was kind of lame but they still did it! we've got it and it still works. harder than it seems it would be but it gets boring after about 20 mins.
