Sorry,...Parks and Experiences do not operate in a vacuum. They operate in a big company with other profit and loss divisions. When those other divisions fail, Parks and Experiences MUST deliver revenue to float the entire company and recover it's other extensive losses. This is the way Burbank "uses" the parks.

Look at two seasons of "Andor" production costs. (estimated to be $650-700+ million) Combine that with one season of "She Hulk" ($250 million). Burbank funded Andor, season one and She Hulk...on something NOBODY watched on Disney plus! ( Andor season 2 is on the way)

Burbank BLEW about 1 Billion dollars on two Disney Plus shows. "THAT" is our "Villain's Land" right there!

What do you think is a better investment? 1 billion spent on "Andor" and "She Hulk"...or that same 1 billion on Villians Land? Which one will make REAL profit for the next 50 years?

But no,...Burbank does NOT agree.
I see where you're coming from......

I went to Magic Kingdom shortly after EPCOT around 10 pm to watch the fireworks. It still is fascinating how some people refuse to accept the concept of following orders from cast members.

Trying to stop in the middle of pathways to view fireworks, arguing with them when a certain section is blocked off for better crowd control. Other things too, but one surpassed them all.

In EPCOT, some dad (with his wife and kid) was raising his voice and arguing with a cast member for 10 minutes straight about the virtual queue for Guardians at the front entrance. I couldn't quite pick up on everything he was saying, but it sounded like he booked a virtual queue and they got there too late and was telling the CM, "Your system is broken. Just make one exception. I've spent over $1000 on this trip alone. This is Disney. Disney can afford one exception like this." The CM tried to explain how she could not make any exceptions because that leaves a door wide open for anyone else wanting the same or similar requests as him. The more the CM pushed back, the louder and angrier the dad got.

I get it's probably his first visit and all, but it made me mad because a grown adult couldn't understand the concept the CM was trying to explain. Also, he couldn't understand this one specific CM doesn't make the rules nor the app. It's not her fault the boarding groups move faster than you'd like. And, if she did what he wanted, she would be in danger of getting in trouble. But people like him just don't get it. Sorry rant over.

If TWDC can't afford to do a good job on Starlight.......then Surely Disney can't afford to support ABC, ABC News and ESPN!!!!!!!!!!!! We don't need ABC News making decisions for the Parks!!!!

Steve, either here or in Starlight's Thread, what's the Progress on Starlight?
What in the world are you talking about? 😂 Disney owns ABC, not the other way around.

My new years wish is that WDW management wake up from their coma and remove the remaining VQ’s.

Fair enough. Preferably I would love it if they did only standby, no more lightning lane, but then what would the extra queues be used for?

Ah well. No sense in wondering. Disney has found a big way to monetize, and if Premier Pass is selling out some days, even if it's holiday weeks, then no way it's going way.

I could be wrong but I think Starlight is safe from severe cuts. I remember back in August someone said Starlight was well funded. Maybe @wdwmagic can comment further, in the appropriate thread?

Well? Burbank created the "skip the line" app-pay ideas but "we" are the ones that fuel it by buying into it. Burbank also makes the prices hikes and "we" justify all of them by paying whatever they want us to.

I can't blame Burbank, I can only blame the fans. Yes, Burbank ties the noose but "we" are the ones that put our necks into it and we pull our own lever. Burbank is just watching us and laughing at how stupid we are.

Good for them!! Burbank are the smart ones in this equation and we deserve everything we get.

The only way to complain is to not reward them with your money. If we DO give them our money?....then we can't complain.

Right now? Market forces are on Burbank's side. (for now)

Disney did not create that. Every other theme park operator monetized it before Disney did. Disney was the holdout for pay to skip the line services.
Agreed, Disney created "their's"....and perfected the science of it. The one thing I like about Universal is that they DO offer it as an upcharge but they don't "block" anybody from just standing in a long stand-buy line. So, you can still ride everything they have without paying extra if you so choose.

When Burbank says the "only" way to see this attraction is to pay "extra" to do it? I think that's dirty.

You don't have to pay extra to experience any ride at Disney either. There's virtual queue but that's not an upcharge.

All evidence to the contrary.

The people who complain the most constantly give Disney their money and then make excuses for their behavior by saying they only spend on what is “worth it.”

I think virtual que "lottery" is a scam. I can't tell you how many times I woke up at 6:45 to hit refresh at 6:59 and get denied at 7:00:03 because they were all distributed 3 seconds after 7:00am.

How may "lottery" seats did they allow for that day? 10? 30? 50?

How do you distribute "all" of the virtual que possibilities for an entire day in 3 seconds? Because you only offered,..I dunno 25? LOL The 7:00am lottery is a joke. They want you to pay and they only use the 7:00am lottery as an excuse to stand next to LL as token "alternative".

I completely agree, virtual queue is awful and should be removed.

Uh, they don't. There are additional drops later in the day.

Disney doesn’t enforce return times on GOTG VQ’s so I’m guessing he didn’t have a VQ reservation at all.
