So I bought the Walt Disney World Guide to the Magic for Kids book by Tim Foster for my niece who is 8 and it is such an awesome book. It is really detailed and has fun fact, pictures, stickers, journal pages and other stuff in the book! She likes it a lot. My husband and I thought it would be great for us to get for our next trip to Disney even though we don't have kids. If you haven't seen it check it out! I really wish there was one of these books for Disneyland since that is where our next Disney trip is to. So Tim if you are reading this make a book for Disneyland! ;)

I was just looking at this book today and wondering if I should buy it for my two. They're 9 and 6. However, I'm in Canada and I have to contact them to get a price for shipping.

I am interested so I went to Amazon. They have one that is out of stock for $24.95 and then two others...one is $160 and the other is $114...what the heck?!

Is this some sort of capitalistic supply and demand??????

I bought it direction from the authors site, which I think is the one listed above. Amazon was way too expensive.

Great, THANKS! I think Amazon may have to do a price check!
Go direct, Guide to themagic.com, we got one 2 years ago, the postage to the UK wasn't bad. When I was looking before on Amazon someone was trying to sell a used one!!! They were asking of more than a new one would cost.
We will be getting DS one for 2013, he is going to fill it in each night and he will take it in to school as a show and tell. Then I don't feel so bad about him missing a couple of days of school. TTFN Jo

My daughter loves Birnbaum's Walt Disney World for Kids (2013 came out about a month ago). She has had it for all of our trips (2009, 2011 and now 2013). But I may have to pick up the one mentioned above as it sounds great.

We got one for our last trip -- however, it was on the cusp of the opening of New Fantasyland, so some of the contents (e.g., Snow White's Scary Adventures is there and the New Fantasyland offerings are not) were out of date by the time we traveled. Still, it was great to be able to show the kids some actual pictures and info. about the various attractions that was written and presented in such an age-appropriate way. In contrast to things like the vacation planning DVD from Disney, which just flashes random shots of attractions at a rapid pace, they could pore over the book and really absorb what they were going to see. They also loved the stickers, fun maps, and places for them to write about their trip.

If you like this for the kids check out "passporter's Walt Disney World 2013". It's great and it has budgets planning pages to fill out, has pages for note, pockets for keepsakes, and is fully illustrated.

I'm interested in getting a "guidebook" or magazine to introduce WDW to my young readers (6 & 8).
For those of you familiar with both Guide to the Magic and Birnbaum's Walt Disney World for Kids, what are the pros and cons of each?

Any other kid-oriented guidebooks or magazines you're familiar with?
