As a preview..... @Voxel ..... I think it's time to update a classic concept :p

Challenge 10: Around the World in 11 Seconds.
This week, competitors are obligated to create a new ride for Epcot’s World Showcase at Walt Disney World. You are to design a ride to fit into one of the existing countries and to be held within your chosen country's existing plot. This ride must be a roller coaster, and we are expecting them to go very fast. Remember that this is the final five, and we are expecting these rides to be top notch. We are looking for an attraction that is concealed and fills in the World Showcase skyline and peaks above the park. But it must conceal an attraction that goes at bullet speeds while also thoroughly connecting with the nation's culture.

Audio-Animatronics Facts

Their will be Three models of Audio-Animatronics featured inside The Wetch ride, mainly for of sight and necessity. The Animatronics found in the stationary and slow sections of the ride will built of the same platform as the 7D Mine Train Roller Coaster found in the Magic Kingdom. The choice was made to reflect the attention to detail that Disney fans love. Quicker scenes will rely on the older and more simpler models, this will increase the operation time of these segments and allow for more units and crowds at a lower coast. Finally the dragon Audio-Animatronic will be a new designed based on the foundations of larger animatronics discovered through out Disney's History.

Grand Opening

Similar to spectacular Openings of Disney Park's Past, This will be extremely special in every sense.

For starters, The Wetch will have a TV Special on ABC On October 26, 2018. With the "Wizards" and "Dragon" parts of the attraction, it seems like the perfect time to host the special right around halloween.

The Special will be hosted by David Tennant, otherwise known as the 10th Doctor in the Doctor Who series. This also serves as a "Selling Epcot" in it's new form, talking about it's new Frozen attraction, Sorain', and many more classic attractions at the park today.

The special story plot goes around David Tennant looking around Epcot to find the Welsh Dragon though out the park, where he runs into several different attractions and pavilions at EPCOT on his way. He finally stumbles upon The Wetch with Merlin's (Ron Schneider, the original voice of the Dreamfinder) help.

Some other Guest Stars David Tennant stumbles upon in this special include: Ellen DeGeneres, Idina Menzel, Diane Kruger (From National Treasure Movie Series), Mushu the Dragon, Mater, Jeremy Clarkson and the Stig , and of course, Mickey and the Gang.

The next morning (October 27, 2018) after the aired special, Tom Stags opens the attraction with aid of Merlin (Ron Scheider, the original voice of the Dreamfinder) and an appearance from the Red Dragon.

Some UK Disney characters also appear at the grand opening to support the new attraction! (Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Alice, and Mary Poppins).

Closing Remarks

Thank you for watching our presentation, we look forward to seeing you conquer The Wetch soon. We at Team Sea have worked hard to design a one of a kind attraction that guest would only find at a Disney Park and we believe that this will stand out as one of the best.

WOOOO WOOO I can't wait to see this!!

Also greatest thing I have seen all day:

Chili's
This attraction is slated for the Italian Pavilion. (some elements of Vatican City will be included as well) The pavilion will be centered in Rome and focus on the Renaissance as well as the evolution of science, theology, art, music, etc from the Renaissance into the next centuries.

The main attraction will be an omnimover dark ride that will look back in time at some of Italy's most brilliant achievements and how it left its mark on history.

I'll do the landscape descriptions later - but I wanted to get the dark ride draft up now - hope you enjoy!

Scoperta
(translated to "discovery" in Italian)

Ride vehicle - an omnimover system, however i'm stilling working on what it will look like.
leonardo-da-vinci-inventions.7.jpg

Possibly might look like this Leonardo Da Vinci invention on the left. 2x2 seating, with each car connected together in a chain.

Queue - Possibly through a replica of the Sistine Chapel, with switchbacks (like the Great Movie Ride queue) while everyone gazes at the ceiling (instead of a movie screen)
Chapelle_sixtine.jpg

Ride-Through - Since this attraction will open somewhere in the 1970s, a prominent voiceover narration of that time (preferably Italian) will be doing the narration for the attraction. Initial thoughts were Al Martino, Al Pacino, etc...but I really don't have that pegged down yet. If anyone has any suggestions feel free. I'm looking for a Jeremy Irons type voice to, in a sense, control the mood of the attraction to emulate the 1994-2006 Spaceship Earth style attraction.

Scene 1 - Dante Alighieri and the Middle Ages
Sandro-Botticelli-map-of-hell.jpg

You begin your journey by ascending through a dark, starry environment, acting as a transition period to your journey back through time. The narration begins:

"From literature, to language, from music, to art, from science, to religion, the Italian heritage is one of rich innovation and discovery. The birth of new knowledge, and the source of new beginnings, all disseminating from this unique culture of endeavors. For generations, Italians have persevered and pursued the quest for invention."

Scene transitions to Florence as you see an animatronic of Dante Alighieri, writing his Divine Comedy, with Florence out the window in the background

"Born in Florence in 1265 a.d., Dante Alighieri would go on to write his Divina Commedia, completed in 1320, which is widely considered to be the greatest literary work in the Italian language, and one of the most profound works of literature around the world. His vision of the afterlife represents the medieval world view and philosophy of religion so profoundly, in particular the Inferno:devilish:, that his allegories stretched far and wide throughout the ages.

His discussion of mathematical and numerical patterns, in addition to discussing a spherical earth, contradicting the flat earth theory, would be an evolutionary theme that would resonate with many going forward"

Scene 2 - Filippo Brunelleschi

Scene transitions from Dante's window in Florence, to the city of Florence and the construction of the Florence Cathedral, with Filippo Brunelleschi overseeing it.

Vredeman%2Bde%2BVries%2B1%2Bcopy.jpg

"From profound literature, to the first modern engineer, Florence's Filippo Brunelleschi was one of the first funding fathers of the Renaissance, well known for his engagement in linear perspective, a mathematical vision based engineering philosophy dependent on mirrors and geometry, that would govern and revolutionize the depiction of space until the late 19th century. His work not only reinforced Christian spiritual reality, but also gave rise to modern science, continuing the evolution of both fields into the Renaissance."

Scene 3/4/5 - The Trinity of the High Renaissance

Rather than a reliance on the one person per scene pattern that we have been progressing on, Scenes 3/4/5 will be a montage of the High Reinassance of Italy, focusing on the Trinity of artists that shaped the era, Michelangelo, Raphael, (no not the ninja turtles) and Leonardo Da Vinci

The scene will flow with giant murals of the various paintings of the artists scattered throughout a large art studio that will progress as the scene goes on into works of art and design that shape the "contemporary" Italian culture.

Violin music (also an italian invention) echoes through the scenes, creating a majestic background to the illustrations

The Last Judgement - Michaelangelo
Last_Judgement_by_Michelangelo.jpg

School of Athens - Raphael
Sanzio_01.jpg

The Last Supper - Leonardo Da Vinci
%C3%9Altima_Cena_-_Da_Vinci_5.jpg

A transitional period out of the High Reinassance brings you into darkness and (similar to the computer tunnel of spaceship earth) you are surrounded by revolving numbers and symbols.

Scene 6 - Fibonacci Sequence and Mathematics
eHWK9.png

You are introduced to the Fibonacci Sequence, a famous integer sequence where every number in it is the sum of its two preceding numbers.

You also see Avogadro's Number 6.02 x10^23 circuling around in the sky, as the narrator continues to profess the advancements in science deriving from Italian descent.
1652c1953004d630585dd716ff4f46d8.jpg

(No sadly, Ii will not be this, but it was too funny not to include...:p)

And mathematical equations and formulas circle around your omnimovers
universe-is-math.jpg

Scene 7 - Galaxy

Now this is the coolest part of the attraction in my opinion. You are in a dark tunnel, music beginning to swell, and the Fibonacci sequence numbers begin to swirl and an IMAX screen to 180 degrees around your omnimover, and swirl into the picture above. As it swirls into the sequence, the room begins to illuminate with stars all around the screen, and the music evolves even more.

A second Fibonacci sequence comes into view, and combines with the one in front of you, before it dissolves into a spiraling galaxy.
fibonacci-spiral-galaxy.jpg

Ahh!...:bookworm::geek:

*Quick sidenote, this was the first image of the attraction I had when I was thinking about it, and the rest of the attraction has evolved off of this. Something about this just felt, Epcot-y, and I wanted to include it.

Scene 8 - Galileo and the Earth

Okay, so after the transition to the galaxy, you turn down and see St. Mark's Square and Galileo looking through a telescope at the stars above.
galileo-demonstrating-his-telescope-to-the-senate-of-venice-picture-id514892448

The narrator continues about the perseverance of Galileo and his persecution as a result, however his persistence lead to the revolutionary theory of the earth revolving around the sun, changing modern theological thinking as well as scientific discovery, based on his observation of the moons of Jupiter revolving around Jupiter

Translation:
galjup.jpg

The disavowing of the geocentric model was a revolutionary point in history, that would shape the way we think about our world.

Scene 9 - Conclusion
As the omnimover turns towards the unloading dock, you have a montage of some of the other inventions and discoveries made by Italians, up to the present day.

Some of the inventions and discoveries include:
Barometer, Carbon Paper, Espresso, Eyeglasses, Induction Motor, Newspaper, Nitroglycerin, Opera, and more

Expanded list here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Italian_inventions

Much like the small world ending where you see "good-bye" in different languages, a montage of all the Italian inventions will encircle your vehicles, as you are told that while Italians have a rich history, this is only the beginning of the discovery. After that you reach the unload platform.
