so world showcase? But with MORE shops?
Well, sure...but more than that.

More things to do in general. Things to see, places to go. World Showcase in Epcot is cramped together whereas our version can really embody each nation individually. Italy is more than just St Marks. UK is more than a pub. Mexico isn't just Donald Duck. We can really have some great aesthetic backdrops to these areas and flesh them out

So were doing World showcase on a truly immersive theme park Level? what advantages do we have by making it a "shopping village"

If you want to call it a theme park than call it a theme park. It doesn't matter to me.

I just want to explore the possibilities of a place like this.

I love the idea. i just dont see why we cant charge people to get in *insert evil face here*
as long as its a unique and immersive experience, i guess it really doesnt matter

Money, for starters....

Shopping village gives a place for locals to go without an annual pass... Which is huge. Also, if you have a layover at our airport.... It's a place to spend money that isn't the parks.... If you just wanna walk around for the day, this is where you go.

Plus, shops give a chance to compete with other giant malls and outlet areas in Orlando and Florida in general.....Making this a Shopping World Showcase makes this mall unique....

If you can imagine the revenue Mall of America makes.... imagine a world showcase village! :D

Eh, I think rent space and revenue with Disney sponsored shops will provide enough cash to not worry about admission... that's where the attraction tickets come in....:D

yet the Mall of America isnt set up like a theme park... its a mall. there may be some operational problems with running an area of that scale with only revenue from rides and shops.

How about this compromise.

Remember we are talking 1966-1980 ish money here...

If the price of admission to Epcot included a bonus package of all the World Showcase attractions for an extra 10 dollars or so.

People on vacation in WDW will most likely buy theme park tickets, and if they are down there once every 3 years, will probably add on the World Showcase option....like water park fun and more option today.

However....World Showcase is still open to the public, for shops and food, etc, however you can only ride the attractions if you have the theme park pass (which you can buy separate from the other theme parks) but most likely it will be a package deal for tourists.

We just could just have like an "all day pass" which basically gets you on all the rides. maybe if we make it expensive enough, the rides will never have a wait! :devilish:

What's the point of doing all this if nobody can afford to see it though? :p

Im only joking! I think this idea will work. but we have to keep in mind, if we decide to have original shops, and elaborate rides its going to cost A LOT to maintain all of this. but what the heck. were dreaming here. Whats the fate of epcot? Maybe the EPCOT/DAK park we talked about for DLR's third gate??

This is where we need an algebraic formula to calculate the cost/benefits analysis of having something be free admission.

Because thinking as a guest...if I just spent money to get into a park...I'm going to spend less on merchandise/food/etc. However at Disney Springs I'd be a bit more flexible because I have the extra cash leftover...and I will probably come back more often if I'm a local...especially elderly who just want to walk around and have dinner.

Like ride ratio to admission price for rides...compared to the ratio of rides to WDW Epcot of today's admission...like per area if you divide up the $100 per day cost...what does it cost for a guest to see each individual place...

Overthinking? Possibly:p In the end I think it should work...

I think it will too. However im still worried about crowd control, We better make some darn wide path ways!!

We will I think we'll be fine.

Best way to avoid crowds is to have other things to do...that's why the MK is so crowded nowadays and the other parks have been stagnant.

Well i wouldnt be so sure. from what ive heard, DHS is still packed even though theres NOTHING there. Im sure itll all work in conception though

Let's talk about some resorts! We've talked about the theme parks/Epcot a lot

What kind of resorts are we thinking? I think it would be cool to not have any resorts that are currently in WDW (ex: Contemporary, Poly, etc)

Or any of the original resorts that never made it Asian, Persian, Venetian etc.

Any ideas?

How's Disney's Mediterranean Resort? It was originally supposed to be at the Seven Seas Lagoon area.
