As Disney can't do much of anything in the WDW parks with the Marvel characters, it seems to me that Florida is the place to make a bigger splash with Star Wars than Anaheim... DLR can have a balance of Marvel and Lucasfilm; Florida can't. That's why I expect that the true super headliner SW "land" and/or "environment" will be built at DHS. Sure, Disneyland's Tomorrowland might get the first attractions, but the space and the business case for the major SW effort is in Florida. Now all someone at Disney has to do is convince the money people to open up the purse strings. Where is Lasseter on all of this SW stuff? Is he an advocate?

I agree! If WDW can't have Marvel-use it at Disneyland. Give FL Star Wars and some Pixar (Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, Monster's Inc, etc). If they build a cool Marvel ride in DL, theme it with Incredibles at WDW (they are making a sequel after all). Then, replace VOTLM at HS with Frozen, move the BAH, and you're on to something ;)

I kinda doubt Harrison Ford has been. Would be cool...double duty as Han and Indy! I might come for that!
I do not care for Harrison Ford as a person. No doubt he's a great actor. It's just his attitude toward Star Wars has always been, well, to put it nicely...crappy. If I ever did go to SWW and he was there, I'd skip his line. That is, even if he were to grace everyone with his autograph. :cautious:

BUT...
No matter if/when a full Star Wars land is opened, I'd still give it at least a year before visiting to let some of the initial crowds die down a bit.
Plus it will give me time to save more money to get there in the first place. I mean, everything is going up but my salary. :in pain:

Don't worry. Plenty of others, including myself, will take your place in line. :)

If/when Star Wars land in whatever capacity comes to Disneyland, wouldn't it make so much more sense for it to be in DCA? I know there have been rumors about adding Star Wars stuff to Tomorrowland, but I don't see that working.

1. Tomorrowland is Tomorrowland. You can't just flip a switch and make it Star Wars land. I love Star Wars, but I also love Tomorrowland and don't want to see it go away.

2. Wasn't DCA due for ANOTHER billion dollar expansion, but it got scrapped? Boom. Star Wars. There's your expansion.

3. Is there even enough room in the "Magic Kingdom" over there? That park doesn't need Star Wars land, but DCA would benefit for sure.

4. Star Wars = California! Skywalker Ranch, Course of the Force, George Lucas went to film school at USC, wants to build a museum at the Presidio, etc.

1. They are no strangers to big construction projects over there.
2. DCA was "too big to fail". If the first billion didn't make DCA cool, then there would have been another billion.
3. Depending on what stays and what goes, there could be a massive amount of room available in DL's Tomorrowland.

The latest rumor is that Star Wars won't get started in any of the parks until Disney sees how good the new movie does in the theaters. For Disneyland, in terms of projects, nothing is getting started until after the 60 year anniversary which will be when Star Wars Episode VII is in theaters. For Walt Disney World, all we been hearing are rumors about them closing down attractions in 2015 to make space for a Star Wars Land.

My cousin, who is in imagineering, has told me that there IS a Star Wars ride coming to WDW. I can't tell you his position or what he said exactly what's coming (he wouldn't tell say) but there is something coming. Btw, he is not a bus driver, even though I said already he is in imagineering.

There really wasn't much doubt that there would be a new Star Wars ride, but the big questions are still what, when and where.
