Walls at Fantasyland Station are down -- looking right into Storybook Circus!

Someone in one of the other threads posted a rumor that there would be soft openings on Monday, and there have also been a few posts on Twitter about rumors of soft openings soon, so I am thinking it's going to be likely. They might even open the area to walk around in before any of the attractions are ready to open.

It has been released that Storybook Circus will still open this monday, with soft openings of dumbo. But the official opening date is still the 31st.

Edit; Also they have been training cast the past few weeks for the new land.

Lovin' everything I see. I really like seeing the use of natural materials and muted color tones instead of the pastels and fluroescents we saw so much in the 90's.

I agree with everyone. This section looks legit. When I heard that there would be a "Storybook Circus" in the new Fantasyland, I got really nervous. I was picturing a Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama in Magic Kingdom. No thank you.. My doubts have been put to rest. Very impressive job by Disney. It looks like this Fantasyland expansion is going to be first-rate. I'm really looking forward to seeing the entire finished product now.

With all these props, it seems like they're including interactive elements (touching things leading to certain effects going off, etc.) which I'm all for! Can anyone confirm an interactive queue?

I'm hoping for a few small effects. I hope smoke will come out of the canon and maybe even a flame(effect) out of the rocket engine. I think it'd be incredible if they blew a circle smoke ring out of the canon somehow. Yes I know that'd be difficult with the wind and it being outdoors, but that could be a VERY cool effect.

I believe they have exceeded my expectations. Just looks great especially compared to what was there. Now we just need to see through those doors. It may just be something as simple as the entrance queue but hopefully the decor is on par with everything else we are seeing.

I find it encouraging that it is not cartoony at all. This seems to be done to further the transition that the MSUSA train station serves of drawing you in from the world of reality and into an Imagineered one. Perfect and very old school Magic Kingdom IMO.

Applause :sohappy:

So True!!

I know in the beginning that people were up in arms about the price tag and that it didn't seem like they were doing much for a cool billion...but seeing this detail I think we are seeing how they are spending the coin.

I feel like this is the type of detail that Walt would have approved of.

...Just as a side note, Im really excited about Cars Land and DCA in general. I've never been to Disneyland and what they have done over at DCA is really pushing me to book a trip there. Just got to get the money together and Im going! :p

I'm confident that you'll love the experience.

Because my wife worked at Disney-Burbank and had a Gold Pass, we were in the parks quite often. We had the good fortune of witnessing DL's transition from its condition in the late 90s to what you would see today.

Having seen that, along with the initial results of the FLE, gives me hope for WDW.

Agreed and I think we can say the same for the DCA redo. It has been a long time since that has been able to be said consistently in the states. Not sure if this is all Lasseter's influence but Iger deserves credit for allowing his creative folks the leeway and budget to put these projects together. I think we all feared another Dinorama or CMM budget special but so far that seems to not be the case with the FLE.

I want to think that perhaps were seeing a future of incredible detail and great new experiences, and it shows so far that everything they're doing is looking pretty darn great in terms of theme and environment.
What we're lacking here, though, is the wow factor attraction. What disappoints me most about FLE is the DL Little Mermaid clone that isn't getting any rave reviews. I think they should have done something completely new. Everything else built from scratch looks promising.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

I am not a germophobe, I swear; but every year I come home from WDW, I am sick as a dog - despite my best efforts not to touch anything. I don't touch railings, lap bars, door handles etc. any more than necessary. Why are they encouraging people to now touch everything?

For most guests it's almost impossible to go through the parts without constantly touching something. Touching a few interactive queue elements isn't going to make things any worse.

Wow, you cynics find a way to complain about things that haven't even happened yet. Truly a masterful level of WDW bashing.

That's the problem, you haven't built up an immunity. Start licking things, build up a tolerance and then you'll be good.

BOOK YOUR TRIP NOW!!! I live 2 hours by plane from WDW and 6 from DL with a layover. I go to DL 2 or 3 times now for every one WDW. WDW is certainly nice, but DL makes you believe once again that Disney magic is real and that managers still exist who understand the traditions they have been entrusted with. DL will knock your socks off. And the revamped DCA is like an all new park. The pedestrian nature of the resort is also a huge plus. Short story: Nothing is perfect, but the DL Resort comes close in the theme park world.

....back to StoryBook Circus discussion.

I have to say that I am really enjoying the interactive queue elements. I was very skeptical about them, but as they are rolling out more and more, I think they add a little extra something to the queue and they are making the queues not feel like queues anymore, more like part of the ride and a whole experience. I never really hated waiting in lines for my favorite rides, but I have a feeling that Disney is on to something here and hopefully this adds another little spark to the parks.

The pics of Storybook Circus so far are looking incredible. When Harry Potter first came to Universal, I was pretty amazed at what they did, but for some reason I feel like Disney will make that experience feel old very quickly. And I just have three little words to sum it up....."Suck it Potter!"
