WALL-E Attraction???

I think a good attraction is a good attraction no matter if it ties into a successful movie or not. A lot of the best attractions at WDW aren't (or weren't, in the case of POTC & HM) tied into any movie. People will ride a good ride no matter what, even it happens to be based on a movie they might not like.

I can understand Disney's strategy of wanting to tie-in attractions with well-known properties (e.g., American Idol) because they think there will already be a large audience for the attraction if the movie/show is already popular. However, look at EE; it was not tied to any pre-existing property and it is wildly successful and one of the best attractions in all of WDW. I'd like to see Disney getting back to creating more highly themed, exciting attractions that tell a new and unique story rather than trying to figure out how to force a Pixar theme onto everything (and this is coming from someone who absolutely loves everything Pixar has ever done).

Well E:E is a roller coaster. So I would think any coaster esp. in a park that didnt really have much going for it as far as big/thrill rides go, would be a success. But I think rides like Potc, and HM are the ones that stand out as far as being successful and not neccessarily being thrill rides. IMO, if disney builts a rollercoaster based off of anything or nothing relating to any movie or such, it will be successful because in disney's world coasters are pretty rare.

I'm with you. I'm really disappointed with every ride being based on a movie these days.

Magic Kingdom use to be all original attractions, none based on movies (except for Fantasyland and Swiss Family Treehouse of course). Now it's slowly being overtaken by movie-based attractions, or turning the original attractions into movies (like HM). Creativity seems to be lacking with with imagineers these days (Joe Rohde an exception though - EE is brilliant and original).

If you're gonna base an attraction on a movie at least make it an obscure, old movie that will be result in something timeless (like Splash Mountain or Tower of Terror) instead of basing it on the latest fad. I mean look at the yawn factor of HISTA and Stitch because they were themed to fads instead of something that will endure.

Actually, I was thinking about it, and at first I wanted to agree - with MILF and SGE being put into MK and TSM being put in DHS, it does seem like everything is movie related...but then, I was thinking. It makes sense for TSM to be put in DHS, since it is based on a movie, which almost everything there is based off of. There have also been some other attractions that weren't...Mission:SPACE, Test Track, EE...

M:S is based on the film Mission to Mars, lest we be fooled into thinking otherwise. The film merely tanked and the tie-ins were subtly removed before the ride officially opened. Had it done well, they'd be there in full force. You can certainly see its influence in the design.

(And the CEO wispered... Yes mr. Jobs... no mr. Jobs... as You predicted, after a while they'll forget Disney, the name, the parks and what it stood for)

Despite Pixar Place being home to all of the new Pixar movie tie-ins, I think this is one of the first Pixar films that actually could belong in Tomorrowland. The movie, from the previews I've seen, revolves around robots and space ... that sure speaks Tomorrowland to me.

Face it ... Pixar IS Disney. There is no escaping it, and in fact, I think Pixar can help Disney in the long run. Disney sure likes Pixar after all the money they've gotten from them.

Poor man, You're one of the ignorants as well...

Read about it, not on these forums, but in real life... Read and learn, read about it...

Pixar= Disney ROTFL

any idea why all of the high places are occupied by Pixar Executives...

Think!!!

Well, with Steve Jobs up there, we can obviously see why. But Pixar deserves its turn in the limelight just like an other Disney films. There have been some bad decisions made with the Pixar attractions (ie: placement of the attractions location), but the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and some of the other Pixar attractions came out great and are fan favorites.

I'm all for appropriate movie tie ins, but original storylines are almost always the ones I care about the most. And as you said, even things like Twilight Zone and Song of the South are obscure enough where they feel original. Wall-E looks like something that deserves an attraction, so no complaints here no matter how big or small the attraction ends up being, but I'm still longing for more originality.

See the changes... and what they're doing to Tommorrowland...

Tomorrowland is already for 60% poisoned with Pixar...

This is what they mean with Rebuilding Tomorrowland...

Not one ride will escape from Pixar...

For kids Pixar is Disney. They are Disney's future customers. Now seeing the plans they have for DCA indicates to me they are not forgetting the past and will honor Walt's legacy going forward. Time will tell.

That's just being silly. Not everything will end up being Pixar related, especially now with Pixar Place being added. But if they really are slowly taking over Tomorrowland with Pixar-based attractions, well, Wall-E wouldn't be a bad choice.

In 30 years you will sit down in front of the fireplace and say to your grand children...
Once upon a time there was a wonderful theme park in Orlando...
Long before Pixarland it was called Walt Disney World.

And your grand children will wonder, and ask you Grand dad?... What 's Disney???

You will sigh and cry... and stare at the dancing flames in the fireplace...

Which means you really don't know a darn thing about corporate management...
But you being a student, you hopefully learn eventally...

Tell me... how many rides were actually there in tomorrowland..

How many Pixar rides are inserted...

How many Disney rides are left... just a couple...

Tomorrowland is Pixarizing, wether you like or not...
