WALL•E Trailer #1

I have to admit I like the trailer more than anything I've heard so far about the movie itself. Which, taken to thought, isn't actually very much.

However, at the end, the robot (is its name Wall E?) seems to speak. Was the rumor that the main character would remain mostly silent debunked?

Well, he won't be voiced by a voice actor, but his voice will be computer made by Ben Burt ( who also made the noises for R2-D2.

Looks very interesting so far though... I can't wait to see more footage of the actual movie.

Awwww! He's so cute....and those eyes! I wonder what he's destined for...

He sort of reminds me of the little robot guy in the Star Tours line at DL.

It appears to have come out of the same brainstorming session as Monster's Inc., A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, and Toy Story, which where all one of my favorites with the exception of Monster's Inc. I think Wall E looks promising.

That is a heck of a teaser trailer. This one is being directed by Andrew Stanton, who did Finding Nemo. The story behind the movie is pretty out there and is definitely a departure for Pixar. Can't wait to see more.

That trailer is brilliant.

Its interesting that this movie was kept back for so long if that is the history of the concept.

I cannot wait to see this next year.

I think I heard it was that there was going to be (mostly) no dialogue - not saying that the character would be silent, but probably communicating in a different way to what we would imagine or associate as a spoken voice.

Plus the point made earlier RE; no voice actor.

Isn't pretty rare for Pixar to release a trailer on the internet? Usually Pixar primeres trailers for upcoming pictures on its current release (ie. Incredibles on finding Nemo, Cars on Incredibles, Rats on Cars).

Anyway, the trailer looks promising!

They probably put it online early since it'll most likely be with Ratatouille sneaks tonight.

Seems interesting. So, are they planning to keep the Pixar/Disney designation on all their upcoming projects? Shouldn't it just now be...Pixar? Or Disney?

The Disney/Pixar designation will stay. One of the points of the deal when Disney bought Pixar was that Pixar would remain Pixar and not Disney. They work by their own set of rules (which their track record allows them to do) and Disney has no input whatsoever. In my opinion, the Pixar name is too powerful in animation to completely do away with it.

Actually, being that Lasseter and Catmull are a part of Disney...then maybe Disney does have some input. Haha. Anyhow, Disney execs, other than the two mentioned have no input or pull on how any of the movies turn out.
