Walkway between GF and POLY?

After dinner at the GF I was thinking a nice stroll around the place might be nice. I have read of a walkway between the GF and the POLY. Is this a good spot to be during the fireworks display over the castle? With just the wife and I out for a romantic stroll, is this a quiet area or overrun with children? Don't get me wrong, we have nothing against children, just looking for a quiet evening stroll. Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Ricky

I walked from the GF to the Polynesian last summer on a very nice paved walkway. It's a great place for a stroll, especially at night when the Polynesian walkways are lit by the torches. It's romantic and quiet, and I don't remember running into any kids, just other strolling couples!

Meega, nala kwishta!
Just don't try the MK to GF or Poly. We left MK on our first night down last year and turned right out of MK and down the path thinking we could stroll over to Poly, then make our way back to AKL via Monorail to TTC. The monorail line was backed up cos the park was just closing and everyone was leaving.

Well...The path stops short of GF at a service canal. It's has a nice set of benches to sit at, but unless we wanted to take a dip, there was no way over, and had to walk back to MK and fight the crowds to get on the monorail anyways.

Of course, it begain to rain too on the walk back...:zipit:

The original plan for the walk around the world bricks was to go all the way around so you can walk to the monorail resorts, mk and ttc from all those places. Unfortunately as you found out, it never happened.

Thanks everyone. This will be on our list of things to do. Looks like we will make this stroll on Wednesday evening. We'll have an early dinner then make the walk over to the Poly, watch the fireworks and Floating Electrical Parade from there and have a quiet walk back. Can't wait. If you have any other romantic, away from the crowds, quiet things to do let me know. We always do the parks and shopping and eating out, but are adding some quiet diversions to this trip.

Here's one of my favorite quiet things to do (and lots of others have posted this elsewhere on this site) - stay in the Magic Kingdom late, after most of the crowds have headed out the exit. The lights on the castle are beautiful, the cast members will not hurry you out, and if you time it right, you will see Mickey's goodnight kiss - the lights on the castle dim a bit, and then sparkle. It's terrific - and very romantic! Ask any cast member about it, and they should be able to tell you what time it will be.

The walkway between the Poly and GF is one of my favorite things to do in all of WDW.

Walking through the Poly resort at night is a great way to soak up the atmosphere.

The walkway from the GF to the Poly is very quiet and very romantic. You walk past the Wedding Chapel, and you have great views of the MK, Contemp, and Poly from the beach across the water.
