Walking to parks from PP with GC construction

Planning a early June trip and I've heard lobby renovation could impact PP guests from using this as an entry, is this correct?

Also, can you get to DTD by walking up the right hand side of AMC theater (under the monorail) instead of the left side near Earl of Sandwich?

Sorry only GCH guests and restaurant reservations they have a list can enter from Disneyland Drive. No PPH guests. (As ofr mid-December 2016)

The east side of the AMC is fenced off, and so no you can't.

OK, here is your one option getting to the parks and for Extra Magic Hour (The GCH DCA Entrance is now only for GCH guests).

At least the Security checks open early on the West side, 5 AM so you can visit the Starbucks...

Now, on the way back to the PPH, you can cut through the GCH lobby currently, who knows what the policy be this summer due to the construction.

The restriction isn't about lobby renovation. It's a new arrangement because of the changes to security check points. It should be considered the new normal.

So I guess this applies to everyone staying on Katella now? You have walk towards the Disneyland hotel to get to Downtown Disney?

If you are staying near the corner of Disneyland Drive/West Street and Katella, yes, you also cannot use GCH as a shortcut to enter the parks, so at the corner of GCH, they send you west towards the Disneyland Hotel, and then up to the ESPN Zone. There is no walking entrance to the Main Entrance Plaza from Disneyland Drive, either the GCH or the former walkway under the Monorail tracks. (Now a fenced off emergency egress only pathway). If coming from Ball, you are forced west at Magic Way on Disneyland Drive, and walk one block west to the traffic light where the Downtown Disney Parking entrance is. You head south to the ESPN Zone to walk, or you can opt to turn North to walk to the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure, and following the painted sidewalk, enter the area where the Escalators and Restrooms are, go through security there, and take the tram in.
