Walking from Epcot to Studios

I had heard that you could walk from Epcot to the Studios in 10 minutes. Yesterday (when Epcot was ridiculously busy) we decided to try it. So........out the international gateway we went and started walking. We ended up on the boardwalk, over by the swan and dolphin and finally found the path (which seemed to be exactly opposite where we just came from) that went to the Studios. All in all it took around 45 minutes.

We must have missed a path or something. Either that or there is no way you can walk it in 10 minutes. Can somebody post explicit directions of how to walk it (maps would help).

Thanks!

It sounds like you probably were on the right path...Out of Epcot, to to Boardwalk, follow the boardwalk around past Atlantic Dance and there is a path that goes past the rest of the Boardwalk resort. You should have been on the side of Crescent Lake that borders Boardwalk, if you were on the Dolphin side (I don't know how this is possible becasue I think it's mostly trees, but in case), that isn't right. Truthfully, it's probably faster to walk it than waiting on the Friendship and then riding on the Friendship (let's face it, they're great but they move at a snails pace) but it does take longer than 10 minutes. Unless you're a super speedy walker or have really long legs. Which I am not and do not.

It can be done... it would take a bit more than 10 mins though.

You'd go out Intenational Gateway, veering left towards the Boardwalk. Keep going until you've passed Flying Fish Cafe, then enter the lobby. Once you're in the Lobby, go right, towards the Luna Park Pool. Walk through the pool towards the Swan/Dolphin and the water. Once you're at the sidewalk, turn left, and it will take you straight to MGM.

Realistically, it should take 25 mins.

I'd say if you're moving at a good speed, it can be done in 20 minutes. Most of the time, you beat those snail-paced "Friendships."

i always enjoyed taking the boat that leaves from epcot (i think its around france) to mgm - the boat stops at the boardwalk and swan and dolphin - but its a nice change of pace

I convinced my husband to do that walk once - from MGM back to Beach Club - in the July heat I might add.

I thought he was going to throw me in the lake half way back to Beach Club.

He kept mockingly saying, "Let's walk it'll be nice and it's not that long of a walk." He was teasing me of course.

It's about 40 - 45 for sure.

I would say total it's about 25-30 minutes. It's definitely faster than waiting for the boats to come... however if a boat comes up to a dock just as you're walking by, grab it!

The photo must have been taken before 11:00 AM because everyone is in Future World.

If a boat is at the Friendship Dock at International Gateway, it's a lot faster to take it. It's about 45min. on the path, but 25min. on the boat, because the boat stops at Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach, and Swan & Dolphin. Without those stops, the boat would take like 10-15min.

On a side note, what is that huge armadillo looking building behind UK in Epcot? I thought there was just a stage there but it is a rather large building .. is it storage?

Ditto. We usually take the boat from MGM to Epcot after we have been on our feet all day.
