Walking between resorts

My family and I will be switching from POR to OKW on the 4th day of our trip in August. I was wondering if it is possible to walk from one resort to the other since they are both in the same general area. Would it be easier to take a boat from POR to downtown disney and another to OKW? Thanks for any help :animwink:

While technically possible it is not even remotely practical. They do look close to each other but the walking distance is quite significant between their entrances. To make matters worse there are no sidewalks for a good portion of this walk and walking is not allowed on the right of ways in WDW. The boat would be a much easier solution but a cab would take less than half the time.

Is it possible - yes

Would I want to do it - no

It's quite the distance, and you will have to go on major roads for a stretch.

You could take the boat to DTD and then walk back up to OKW if thats your cup of tea

I have walked between SSR and OKW. The problem is crossing Disney Vacation Club Way. As far as I know, there is no walking path that does that. You have to walk along Vacation Club Way.

Thanks - my assumption was that there would be no sidewalks, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask! I'm thinking we will take a boat to DTD, grab lunch, and then take the other back to OKW.

Walking back from DTD is a nice walk. It's though the golf course and then along the river right across from the new Treehouses.
