Walk to Poly from VWL?

So we have a Disney Cruise/parks vacation coming up in February, we'll be staying at VWL for our park segment. I originally made an ADR for Whispering Canyon for breakfast for our last day, since we had always eaten there for dinner and enjoyed it. After reading reviews about the Kona Cafe at the Poly (I may be one of the only people on earth not hip to Tonga Toast....bad banana aversion), I'm wondering if I should switch our ADR to there.....and if I do......what's the easiest way to get there? We will not have a car, and I know we could catch the water taxi to the Contemporary and switch to the monorail (not sure if the water taxi runs early enough if I made an 8am ADR). I tried searching in this forum for folks who may have walked to the Poly from VWL, but couldn't find anything. I know the resorts are 'across the street' from each other, but not sure how realistic walking would be. TIA!

I'd take a cab. It is like five minutes, maybe less.

If the boat goes to the TTC, which it used to, you can just walk through the bushes to the Poly. There is a very short path. It's just a few steps - honest. If the boat isn't running, I have no idea. Bus to MK and then boat or monorail, I guess. What a pain, though. I'm back to "take a cab."

You aren't supposed to walk. It would take a long time, anyway, but with the way people drive in WDW, you don't want to be on the sides of those roads! Really! Dangerous.

I don't even know if you can take a bus to the MK from WL. You might have to bus to Epcot, lol and then monorail back!

This is why I always say that if you can't get access to a car, you should just eat in the parks and your own hotel. Public transportation at Disney is cleaner than others, but just as time consuming.

I assume that you didn't rent a car because you wanted to save money and paying for cabs is not your #1 choice. But this is a really short cab ride. If you're willing to eat in a less fancy place, you can get the Tonga Toast at Captain Cook's and save a few bucks there.

First of all, the resorts are not 'across the street' from each other.
You can take a bus from WL to TTC, and Monorail or walk to Poly... or take boat from WL to MK, then boat or Monorail to Poly.

Right, they are not even close to being across the street and there is no walkway along Seven Seas drive or crosswalk across World Drive. It is not a safe walk at all.

Check when the boats and monorail start during your stay. Chances are they will be running and that would be the way. Cab is also good. Forget walking and stay safe.

We always take the boat from the WL to the Contemporary and hop on the monorail. The bus ride from WL to the MK is also extremely quick but, depending on when you go, the wait for the monorail could be longer from the MK.

I don't know if it's always like this, but when we stayed at WL we were informed by a slew of CMs that none of the boats for the lodge start running until 8am. We were stuck with bus service for all of our early morning ADRs. While buses don't run resort to resort, many of the buses will accomodate such requests for early morning ADRs. Ex. We got a bus to take us from WL to the GF for breakfast. The buses supposedly start up around 6:30a so this might work.
