Hi  I'll be down there at the same time.. we are going the 13th to 21st! :sohappy:

I'm expecting kinda large crowds since most of the mid level and upper level hotels are booked solid. I thought about upgrading my pop century room and couldnt find many options to upgrade to.

But.. crowds dont matter! FASTPASS!!! Like in Epcot.. try to get on Soarin first thing in the morning.. so you wont have a wait.. then fastpass test track while you walk on spaeship earth and figment.. then fastpass mission space while you do universe of energy.. then fastpass soarin (for a 2nd trip) while you do mission space. Enjoy the shops and sit at the fountainview cafe enjoying the fountain while you wait.. hit some counties. If you have a good plan you wont be wasting time while fastpass'n! Dont forget Mexico is right next to futureworld so you can ride El Rio De Tiempo while waiting for a soar'n fastpass time etc!

you ever stay in the pop century before. this is my first time staying there. Stayed in Carribian, Yatch, poly and contempory before. I know not to expect the samething out of a value, but with two small kids it seem like a good place to take them

They'll be a little longer on the 19th, because we'll be there then!

pop century

 To rcapolete: You will LOVE Pop Century. So will the kids. Theres so many things to look at there. The pools are really neat. The food court is good. Theres a Goofy splash pool for kids. Theres slushes in the food court all the time. Its wonderful. The rooms are plenty big. The busses are great. Have a magical stay!!:sohappy:

Wait times vary. I refuse to worry about them because then I'd be stressing about a vacation that I don't want to be stressed about. I usually go at busy times (Christmas, Feb break, March break) and I get around just fine. Use Fastpass and get to the parks early. There's no reason to wait longer than 30 minutes for anything if you plan it right.

I stayed at the Pop Century twice so far.. and to me its the best resort except for the luxury ones. I think the moderate resorts like Carribian, Orleans, etc lack the disney magic.. to me they are boring. The pop century is alive.. its magical.. it feels like disney!!! Its so bright and clear and you can almost feel the magic coming out of the walls.. hell, they even sparkle in the lobby.

THe pop century has an awesome arcade, huge gift shop, and an amazing food court.. and the pools are themed very cool. Also.. there is only one bus stop for the pop century so you dont have to wait for other stops.. all in all.. i love it!!! :sohappy: :sohappy:

Of course, I would choose a luxury resort like the Poly, Boardwalk, or Wilderness Lodge over it because of their locations and themes.. but I still think the Pop Century detroys all other value and moderate resorts!!!! :king:

can anyone recommend a building to stay in that is near the main building/bus stops but not a premium building since we all took the standard when we booked.

I was there the same dates last year, and most things were walk ons early morning or late night, with average wait times in the afternoons and early evenings (around 30 mins) for most things.

A far cry from our normal vacations over New Years.
