I have wait listed several times before and always got the accomadations we wanted. This year we are listed for 12/3 to 12/8 at BCV or BWV and still have not gotten it. We do have res at OKW so its not a severe problem but we do like the epcot resort area best.

We too have the same issue. We have a reservation at SSR but are wait listed for BWV and BCV. I believe it will become more and more difficult to get to stay at one of the more popular DVC's, since there are so many SSR owners. Also keep in mind there are members from VB and HHI that are trying to book at these resorts.

I also think it will be difficult to book at AKLV within the 7 month window.

When we were placed on the wait list we were told that we will not be notified until 30 days prior to our trip. This makes it difficult to plan the trip.

I would think that this is probably one of many reasons why there are so many SSR resales.

Slightly off-topic, but I suspect there are a lot of SSR resales mainly because it's the newest resort, and some people buy their points and then realize a: they can't really afford it, b: they're not going to go to WDW enough to seem feasible, c: other problems come up where having cash in hand is necessary (money for a kids' education, or dividing up stuff during a divorce) or d: they decide to buy in to a time-share program where their share is not ever deeded back to the company that sold it to them.

Don't get me wrong, as I'm a member of DVC, too. I'm not slagging off on the DVC concept. I'm just saying that, as the newest resort, there are bound to be more unhappy customers there than at the other resorts, because anyone who was unhappy with their home resort or the DVC in general sold their shares in those resorts a long time ago.

I don't know if anyone has tried it, but even though we are waitlisted, you can go to disneyworld.com and make cash and/or vacation package reservations and there is availability at several of the Villas still. From what the DVC Member Services told me, there are a certain number of rooms designated for cash sales which will be released 30 days ahead of that date if they are not reserved. I think that is why they will notify you 30 days ahead of time because that is when those additional rooms become available.

We've been owners at BWV since 2002 and have stayed there several times but since the opening of SSR I have noticed it getting extremely difficult to book within 7 months... BUT!! oddly enough some last minute calls have provided 1Br and Studios openings after I had given up... Makes me start to wonder how hard the DVC ressie folks are pushing other DVC owners to SSR..

Certainly starting to feel this way...

I would feel very cheated to find that DVC membership is getting squeezed out of premium rooms into SSR so WDW ressies can book for cash.. Getting to the point the DVC folks should be held accountable to demonstrate their booking ratios.. As owners I believe we are entitled to know…

Anyone else with similar experience / opinions??
