Wait are we sure we can afford this? PTR

Hi All! I guess the beginning of the story for this trip jumps back to 2010, when I was a freshmen in college. During my freshmen year of college, I learned one of my peers was a Disney geek like myself. We instantly hit it off always watching disney movies together, taking trips to the disney store, etc. We have always talked about taking a trip together but because we are in college, money can be an issue. In June of 2012 I got a phone call from my friend while I was in Disney World, She had just been hired by the Disney Store! She absolutely loved her job and told me to apply as well and in October 2012, I also got hired! Being completely surrounded by Disney, we knew we had to go, even if it was just for a weekend.

We began to think of dates to go. March 2013 for our spring break? May 2013 after school gets out? August 2013 right before school started? After pricing the hotel prices and plane tickets we figured that May 2013 was the best option! We booked our hotel in November 2012 and bought our plane tickets in February! It was official, We Were Going To Disney!:)

Now that you have some back story: Onto the fun stuff!

Who are we?
Me(Emily)- 21 year old, Disney Parks geek. Currently a Junior in collage. This will be my 13th trip to the world!
Mariana- 21 years old, Disney Films geek. Also a Junior in College. Last trip to WDW was in 2010. Last trip to Disneyland was in 2011. Hasn't been to EPCOT or DHS in over 10 years

That's us on my 21st birthday.

What's the game plan?
We will be going from May 22nd-May 29th and staying at Pop Century!

May 22nd-Our Flight leaves from logan at 5:25am. We have a layover in Georgia and will be arriving in Orlando at 10:30am. Fingers crossed our room will be ready and we can nap for a little bit, hang out by the pool, and go to DTD.

May 23rd- EPCOT! We have a reservation at Akershus for 8:50am! First time for both of us going here. The game plan for the rest of the day is to just explore EPCOT.

May 24th- Magic Kingdom! Our goal for the day is for us to see New fantasyland and meet some characters. We also have a 5:40pm ADR for Be Our Guest!

May 25th- Animal Kingdom! Ak has morning extra magic hours which we would like to go to so we can get an early ride on Everest and the Safari. We might also add in a meal at Tusker House for breakfast (Still budgeting this out).

May 26th- Typhoon Lagoon! Okay so this was originally supposed to be a IOA day but after calculating the price of tickets, transportation to get there and the fact that we both have sisters who will kill us if we see Harry Potter without them, We decided to do a Water Park day! We have never done a water park so this should be a fun experience :)

May 27th- DHS! Planning on using the nighttime extra magic hours. We will be going on memorial day and are praying the crowds aren't too bad.

May 28th- Magic Kingdom! basically whatever we don't get done on the first day of MK. Seeing Wishes again before we go, hitting the favorites.

May 29th- Check out. We aren't sure exactly what to do this day. Possibly go back to Epcot or DHS, maybe back to Downtown disney, maybe more pool. We aren't 100% sure. Our flight leaves Orlando at 6:50 so we will have to be back and boarding Magic Express probably around 3:30ish.

And those are our plans so far! We might add another ADR we aren't 100% sure. Still budgeting stuff out. We are very excited that our plans went from maybe just a weekend to see new fantasyland to going for a week now!

57 Days Til we go!

Have a great time! We're going May 26-June 2. We're DVC members staying at AKL-Kidani Village. This will be our 3rd year over Memorial Day. The crowds are not bad. You and your friend have an excellent plan...not too concrete which allows for spontaneous decisions. :)

I'm glad you mentioned the crowds not being bad! We have heard such mixed things about the crowds and it's good to hear from someone who has had experience going at that time. :) Last time I went was at the end of June and I thought the crowds were a lot more manageable than people before had told me.

JUST THOUGHT I WOULD ADD A FEW UPDATES!

So we are currently 13 days away from our trip! Less than two weeks!:D

On Tuesday, my friend and I were talking about our trip and felt like we were supposed to have gotten something from Disney. We went through the list of stuff. Confirmation e-mail? Check. All our park tickets? Printed check. Dining Reservations? Check. Magical Express? HEY WHERE IS MAGICAL EXPRESS?!?!?!
We went to check our mail and no success. On to calling Disney! I called up Disney and got an awesome CM on the phone. Turns out magical express was shipped to the wrong address:rolleyes: They said we should be getting it by next wednesday (Fingers Crossed!)

We also decided to add the Fantasmic dinner package! We are torn between where to eat and if we should go for lunch or dinner so any suggestions would be awesome!

Not sure if I added this in the original post but this will also be my first time on a plane! I know crazy. 21 years and never been on a plane. My mom never liked riding in them because she felt claustrophobic. So any tips for first time plane taker would be great too! I don't have a few of heights or motion sickness or anything just a tad scared (It's probably more excitement than anything;)).

1) If you end up not getting your Magical Express packet in time (or at all), that's ok. They will reprint it for you at MCO. The Guest Services area is impossible to miss, off to the right of where you enter the queues for Magical Express. So, don't fret too much about that.

2) For Fantasmic I like to do Brown Derby for Lunch. So, that would be my suggestion.
