Probably just tweaking the effects a little bit, they might be adding some new effects maybe, but most likely giving the casts a little break (and maybe training another one for the typical type of schedule. Just my ideas, not relaying information.

I hope the replace the film in the projector, or switch to digital (if they already haven't done so). The film is very old and scratchy.

I hope they incorporate more of the broadway musical into the show to make it, oh how should I say this, not so 15 years old...

That is so not good. My 5 yr old is on a Little Mermaid kick on this trip and was looking forward to it. Last trip she was hung up on Belle. At least we can try to get there on one of our last days of the trip. I hope the refurb does not last longer.

My hope is that they update it a little, I do love the attraction but just thing maybe add some bits here or there to give it a fresh feeling.

are they good about sticking to their start dates??

Our only chance to see it will be the evening of the 9th.... my 5 yr old was Ariel this Halloween.. on a big Ariel phase at the moment.
It's on the evening EMH list and the 9th is evening EMH there... hoping they stick to it!!!

Start dates are stuck to 99.9% of the time, ending dates are normally correct, but are altered sometimes. IF a date is altered, it would be the re-open date, not the closing date.

seing how it's only 4 days, it's probably just a refresher , a good cleaning and some tweeking on some of the mechanical stuff that tends to not work as good as it should.

i've been told it would be extremly costly to replace the film with digital because of the way the show was built.

Mecha is right, they're not doing anything with the screen or making it digital. Most of the work is just cleaning some crap, fixing up the stage (which is more for the performers) and fixing the AC which has been broken for a long time.

Most importantly, their automated spiel includes "Disney MGM Studios" twice in it, so of course that will need to be changed.

Maybe someday they'll add the rumored "Kiss the girl" scene. The AC is broken? It always seems chilly in there when the mist is used.

Heading for the great escape.
I hear that they will be sorting out Ariels clam. I have read somewhere that the team that developed T2 for Universal will be working on this refurb introducing a targeting and eradication system aimed at users of camera flash during performance.

Kiss the girl was a scene they cut out after their major refurb, I think. I don't remember but I'm pretty sure there was a Kiss the Girl scene.
