From the rules of the contest:

http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showpost.php?p=1216042&postcount=1

Subject Rules: 9/9-9/15 Macro Photography Contest
Macro Photography (often a tulip on a digital camera) is taking close up pictures of small things. Be creative. Anything related to Disney is acceptable, and pictures DO NOT need to be taken at the parks.

Aye, I saw the rules. And yet, the contest is still about interpretation of the theme. Sometimes people surprise you with something you hadn't thought of. Other times you have to sit and stare and wonder if what they posted even fits the rules. In this case, does a photo of a foot-scale statue juxtaposed over a hundred-foot-scale castle qualify as macro photography? I didn't think so, especially with so many other good inch-scale photos in the running. Nevertheless, at least 27 people disagreed with me and out-voted me. So be it.

Keeping to a theme only works if everyone who votes agrees on the interpretation of the rules. That will never happen in this forum. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.

So I hold to Barbosa's quote, and continue to enjoy the variety of entries regardless of who gets called the winner.

I think it fits the rules just fine. You took a very small subject and made it dominant in front of a good background. I see nothing wrong with it.
