visiting for the first time as an adult

I've been to WDW 13 times, all before I was 14, and obviously became obsessed. I've been trying to get back ever since but it's been too much of an investment. I finally budgeted a 9-day vacation in September and am looking for tips for what to do now that I'm visiting as an adult (27). I'm staying off-site at a family's time share to help save money, and am planning a 4-day park hopper. Is a day at blizzard beach worth it? Any tips or ideas appreciated!

Welcome aboard! Much has changed in the past few years. I'd say get a copy of the Unofficial Guide to Disney and read it, the sooner the better. If you're not in good shape start taking daily walks now. Get up and get to rope drop 20 minutes before official opening time. Most importantly take time to smell the roses and let yourself have fun.

I've only ever been to Disney as an adult. We spent a week at WDW last August with the water park & more ticket option and we still never went to Blizzard Beach lol! There was so much to see in the parks that BB was never at the top of our list. YMMV.

Check out some of the lounges. We loved the Wave Lounge at the Contemporary last trip and we plan on trying a few more this trip.

I was in the exact same boat as you! Went to Disney so many times as a child and had not gone in years until I was 27 just like you! Prepare to become even more obsessed!!!

We love Hoop dee doo revue, it's an entertaining show & good food, plus the resort is awesome. Exploring other resorts is fun, like the Polynesian! Ohana is great too.

Lots of shopping, I mostly window shop and Downtown Disney is great for that. And they're open late which is a nice night time option. The Boardwalk too (I know there's a club there, I've never been) Love strolling thru the shops at Hollywood Studios. Cute clothes & jewelry.

Oh and I've also never done this, bc we always go in August and it's just too humid to drink like this.. But there's the "drink around the world" at Epcot. I think I'll try snacking around the world this year. So many options!

Have a magical trip!!! :)

Welcome to the Magic!

To sum up what @figmentfan423 , have a plan, take advantage of the relatively lighter crowds at rope drop, and enjoy seeing all of the chages that Walt Disney World has made in the 13 years since you have been away. It will be impossible to see it all in four days, so relax and know what you definetly want to see and do. If Blizzard Beach is something you want to do, then do it. If you aren't sure, then don't. Just don't use your four days as the "Amazing Race" tring to make up for lost Disney time. It just won't happen. Enjoy that first trip back.

Good advice especially about walking we averaged 12 miles a day on a recent visit .

You'll have a new and exciting experience visiting WDW at a different time of your life. My only WDW visits have been as an Adult. But DS's visits started as a child and now continues an adult. Discussing this with him, hes pointed out that theres more fun doing Disney as an adult. Freedom to make decisions, no restrictions, new challenges, new food & drink selections, ability to spend more freely on yourself, everything can be experienced through mature eyes. And it all is backed up by youthful memories as a child. So do it all... pick out those things you werent able to do as a child, or were fearful to do and have a ball... as an Adult. ;)
