WoW!! I just beame a member, this looks like an awesome sight!!

Maybe someone here can help!! I just booked OKW for 8 days and we will actually be there for Easter. Just me and my 3 kids - DH is staying home to work

What should I do on Easter?? Is there anything special at any of the parks?
I was thinking to stay away from the parks that day because we'll be there 4 days already and hopefully we'll be able to do the parks before the Easter week
crowds arrive.

Any suggestions would be great!!!

Thank you,

The week before and the eak after easter are insane at the parks. Traditionally they do have the easter bunny over at the MK and theres some special breakfastes over at Epcot and the like.

However crowds will be insane, and odds are some phased closings may occur - as occurred this past easter season.

We've been to WDW at Easter for our last 4 visits. The parks become busier the nearer to Easter Sunday you get and then drop off again the other side. Obviously the main advantage with busier parks is longer hours, but on the downside the lines are very long. Try another park (SeaWorld) on Easter Sunday, its generally quieter

I will tell you it will be busy, but it can be a lot of fun. Get to MK early on Easter morning, and check to see if the Easter Bunny will be making any appearances. If you want a nice dinner, make sure to make PS at maybe Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern. The lines will be long, but it would be a great day to take your time to explore the park like you normally would. Go to see the attractions that you might normally take the time to see. Also, make sure to use FP on your favorite attractions. It's also fun just to walk up and down Main Street to the see different names in the windows.

Have a great trip!

 Welcome aboard!! You're going to love it here.

I've been both the week before & the week after ... it busy with the buildup to Easter, but the next day it quiets down. Depending on how old your kids are (and if they want to see the Easter Bunny) you may want to avoid the parks that day.

I was at WDW this past Easter, and can add a few things to the discussion. First, the Magic Kingdom was the only park absolutely swamped on Easter Sunday, so if you are going to be there for several days, you might consider scheduling your trip so that you are in another park on that particular day.

Second, most of the Disney deluxe resorts have something planned on Easter Sunday. All the resort gift shops will sell you an Easter basket that you design and put together, that gets delivered to your room on Sunday. Also, there are Easter egg hunts on various resort properties and so forth.

Also, the Easter Bunny (Mr. and Ms.) made appearances at the Magic Kingdom pretty much all week, so you didn't have to be in the park on Sunday to experience that.

Finally, I didn't experience any of the phased closings during the buildup to Easter. That was a concern before we arrived, but at least for those staying on property, it never became an issue at all for us. One thing you will want to consider during the busy days is identify which park is going to allow early entry each day. Then, either go early and leave mid-morning when the crowds begin to swell, or don't go to the designated park at all on early entry day. The early entry park is usually the most crowded park of the four, especially from 11:00 onward.

I hope this was helpful. Enjoy the board!

We always go to WDW in the late fall when there are NO crowds. So, this year we thought we'd try Easter since we had a few days off from work. We arrived Saturday evening. Sunday morning we went to MGM. The lines were manageable. Nothing like we had expected. We expected it to be swamped. Also, there were all kinds of things going on at the resorts. We had thought of going to an Easter egg hunt, but couldn't wait to get to the parks, so we changed our plans.

We did get to meet Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny at the MK later that week. They are absolutely beautiful! I would suggest seeking them out. We happened upon them just outside guest services.

I would say all in all, it is really not that bad of a week to be in WDW. I was expecting the crowds they used to have in the summertime of the early 90's (before fast pass) when you really did wait in long....long....LONG lines. That was certainly not our experience.

MKCP 1986 is right on track with their assessment.

Thanks to all of you for yor help!! I definately think maybe we'll stay away from the MK on Easter and do one of the other parks or maybe just relax at the pool.

We tend to visit every year since were DVC members, and the kids are 14, 12 and 9, so maybe we'll do something totally different, which will take me time to think it up!!!

Thanks for your help!!!
