Visit When?

We would like to make our first trip to DL. We are out of school the 17th of May. When would be a good time to go crowd wise? I have read about end of year school trips and grad nights with the locals. Fourth of July weekend show the CA blockout. Am I better going end of May-June or 4th of July? I really want to spend 2-3 days there. We will be driving down from San Francisco.

While I'm not a local of the Disneyland area, I can speak from experience and say that visiting near July 4th is probably not a good idea unless you A) have no other choice or B) enjoy extremely hot weather, very little relief from that weather, and pretending to be a sardine.

If those are the times your planning to go I would definitely suggest the May/June period. My last visit was right around the first week of June and while it was crowded two days (Nightastic had just started) the rest of the time it was great.

I would also pick May-June. But I would try to avoid Memorial Day (May 30)

The earlier you can go, the better. As July approaches crowds increase with the temperature. If I go in July at all, I go after 9 pm because of the heat and crowds.
