Visions Fantastic: An Imagineering Competition (Game Thread)

right...

Gauntlet Challenge Two:
Create a new park original character to place somewhere not in an attraction (think SMRT-1, Orange Bird, Sonny Eclipse, PUSH, etc.)

D.J. Mixnut

Horizons_Butler_Robot.jpg

The robot Audio-Animatronics in Horizons, such as this butler, provide a solid point of reference for [BS]DL's Tomorrowland robot characters, including D.J.
Entertaining guests in the Starlite Diner at [Blue Sky] Disneyland is D.J. Mixnut, who provides the music at his mini mixing studio. His mixtape of favorite showtunes includes such gems as a rollicking love song about the moon in the month of June and songs written for the lost legends of 1980s EPCOT.
Gauntlet Challenge Three:
Design your dream dark ride (It can be busbar, trackless, boat-based, whatever, just has to be a dark ride.)[/CENTER]

Alice Through the Looking Glass

Alice-in-wonderland-disneyscreencaps.com-3341.jpg
What lies beyond the looking glass...? You can find out when you visit [Blue Sky] Disneyland!

Aboard oversized chess pieces which seem to have a curious mind all their own, guests wander this way and that through a garden where the flowers and plants seem to be as big as you (and can talk and sing), trek through Tulgey Wood in search of the Jabberwocky, get into a spin trying to make sense of the Cheshire Cat’s ever-changing directions, and finally stumble upon the Red Queen’s fortress, where a frenetic, life-sized game of chess is about to commence. Who will win? No one knows...making the trip through this Wonderland curiouser and curiouser!

Contrary to what the title may lead you to believe, Through the Looking Glass takes more from the visual style of the original 1951 Alice in Wonderland film, and is an E-ticket trackless dark ride filled to the brim with detailed (mostly) physical sets, full AA figures, and special effects.

I think it's a real testament to how strong everyone is that even as rankings keep coming in there's not a crazy clear pattern forming and multiple people are going "well, in my mind these two tied so I used this or that as a tie breaker." I have no idea who the top two might be, but I do know it's going to be very very very close

Results are in, all of the sinister six have voted and I did not need to break any ties, so we officially have our final eight.

@WaltWiz1901

With a score of 6 out of a possible 24, Wiz unfortunately will not be carrying on. While you’ve played an amazing game, the main issue was the lack of a submission on the first of the gauntlet challenges. Still, you made it to the top 10 so amazing work! Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again.

@tcool123

This on was closer, with a score of 16 out of a possible 24 points. Tcool has played an amazing game from being our first MVP to contributing some amazing stuff. Towards the end of the game life happened and I empathize but you still managed to knock out some great submissions. However, you were just edged out of the top eight. Thank you for playing!

That means advancing into our semi-finals we have…

@Lizzy May Bee

With a score of 19 out of a possible 24, Lizzy was the dark horse who came out swinging with a very interesting project theming it all together and tackling a queue that didn’t necessarily need a redo, but in the eyes of the Sinister Six, you earned your spot. Congratulations!

@Lord Fozzinator

I’ll say you fully redeemed yourself from two rounds ago and in the eyes of the Sinister Six, that was true as well. You were in the top two for all but one of the rankings and with a total of 20 out of a possible 24 you edged Lizzy out and took the top spot. Great work and well earned!

Well folks, with that we have our final eight and enter the semi-finals round. I am at work but project will be posted sometime in the evening when I’m home. Great work everyone!

was a bit pressed for time when putting together my submissions and couldn't think of one for the first challenge under such short notice, so apologies on that front. still, I'm glad to have participated and will gladly sign up for the next Imagineering game I see!

wishing the finalists the best of luck, too
