Visions Fantastic: An Imagineering Competition (Game Thread)

Hey teams. Not to info dump here but I just found out that my mentor and the person who taught me everything I know about being a zookeeper and a conservationist passed away today. I’m really not doing well right now and I know y’all have the project due tomorrow night and I’ve already been really bad about getting reviews up in a timely manner, but I don’t really see a world where reviews are timely after this.

For that reason, if you guys want an extension, it’s granted. If not, please be as patient as you have been with me already and I’m so sorry to disappoint. I’ll still reveal the final six and post the next project once this round is over because I want to finish out this game, but I wanted to share with you where I’m at so nobody gets mad at me.

It’s really thoughtful to let us know like that, usually hosts tend to drop the ball with these competitions when personal stuff comes up, so the extra layer of care you’ve given when it really wouldn’t have been necessary is really commendable. Best wishes from me

I'm sorry to hear that :( that is never easy, losing someone like that. Let me know if there's anything you need ❤️

And of course, take all the time you need, we can wait for however long is needed to continue the game.

Take all the time and all the care you need! This game has been amazing and you've done an incredible job, no one would get mad at you or be disappointed at you for taking the time you need. If there is anyway I can help out, let me know.

Thanks for all the kind messages friends, and I hope the extension has been helpful. I'm doing alright, things like this take time of course but I'm absolutely ready to at least continue on the game.

I have decided that rather than cutting the roster by half and having a final six in the semi-finals that I will be advancing a final eight which will then become a final four in the finals. That means four players will be eliminated after this round.

Luckily for all of you, @ThemeParkPriest has let me know this will be his final round and so he will be taking one of those four elimination spots. Good luck to all the rest of you and I look forward to these projects!​

Results

Alright teams, I've read through both projects and while as I mentioned there may be some time before I can get reviews out, planning a memorial with old coworkers and waiting for funeral information, plus regular work, it's just hectic. That said, I wanted to get you guys your results ASAP. With that said, let's do this thing.

Team Destiny- Industryland

This was a genuinely amazing land and one that in a just universe would've absolutely won it. Do not take your loss as anything other than the other team being so on their game it's not fair. You guys rocked this with some amazing attractions, art work, and a phenomenal concept overall. I debated letting both teams tie here, but alas I went against it and so you guys end up in second. Great work still, just amazing.

MVP- @Outbound- As project leader here you did great organization and this feels like an Outbound project. This MVP victory also means you will be heading into the Final Eight.

Team Treasure- Spy Land

This was just a *chef's kiss* of a project. Every single one of you was firing on all cylinders and it's almost unfair how well you guys did. This land is amazing and even more so, the project is astounding. This presentation is a top 5 of recent games 100%. I don't even love spies that much but you guys took a theme and ran with it, so there was no doubt in my mind that if I didn't tie this round, you guys were taking it.

MVP- @AceAstro- Do I have to explain why? The video, the mission, the presentation. When Ace shows up, Ace shows up and that's exactly what happened here. Welcome to the final eight.
