Virgin to Orlando - Do tell your stories?
How good is the V Lounge at Gatwick?
How good is there customer support?
Best thing and worst thing about Virgin?

Look forward to hearing your replies

So
The light has just gone out.:jawdrop:..Here is what I've just priced from Manchester to MCO for 2014... October..VA..3 adults..flight only return..£2693...Thomas Cook..2adults..1child..flights only return..£1768...:(...[/quote
Sorry mr hatter but you couldn't possibly have priced a flight with VA as they are only released 11 months in advance ... You might have gotten a quote from Virgin Holidays but they are way too expensive compared with booking direct with VA. Have a look mid to late October you should be able to get a price then for VA. ✈

VA's website doesn't let me book that far in advance
And does that Thomas cook price include hand luggage and meals :jawdrop:
Sorry..Yes ..Virgin only let me book up until September 2014.. So I checked out the September price and the TC price for October..No to you question about luggage..There's a package bundle available..Including pre booked seats but it's still a lot cheaper..Cannot believe the person who quotes £600 per person return..That's got to be sitting in the luggage hold..

If, by luggage hold, you mean Economy, here's the price for 1 adult:

And the price for 3 adults, 3 children.

Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays are completely different companies (A bit like WDW and Disneyland Paris).
Virgin Holidays cannot get Virgin Atlantic at direct prices.
Obviously these prices are for this year, and when I travelled last year it was abit cheaper than those images above. I have just taken those screen prints, so feel free to check and see if my pants are on fire lol

And here is the Manchester for the same date.

Here's an idea @real mad hatter :
Day before you go get an Easyjet Flight to Gatwick, if you book when they are first released you can pick them up for £60 return each person. Obvs you need to add luggage. Stay at Gatwick Travelodge. So say £300 for all three of you for flights, luggage and Travelodge, in order to save £900 by flying from Gatwick. £600 net saving.
Next day you fly Virgin from Gatwick, on your return get an Easyjet flight back. Would cost a lot less than going from Manchester.
Just a suggestion, hope it all makes sense, have small ones interrupting me. My mum was a travel agent. It's in my blood to source the best deal :)

Here's another Virgin Holiday/Atlantic/WDW comparison. 21st August 2014 for 7 nights from Gatwick at PORS (yes, we know, who would be mad enough to go in August but this is for illustration only ;) )
Virgin Holidays quote 5793.01 for 2 adults and 1 child, inclusive of QSDP and 7 day Ultimate tix.
Virgin Atlantic + WDW.co.uk is 5035 for the same holiday!
The best price came out though as Thomson which was 4379, but it is flying into Sandford. For me the last thing I want to do with my kids is find the hire car in a car park, load seats (which would be 200 extra for me) then drive when totally knackered.

Ours for next year is less than 600 pp return. Total cost for 2 bed apartment at Old Key West, 2 weeks park tickets, flights for 6 people - £11k. That's for 18 nights. We book Virgin separately and hotel/tix through WDW website.

Virgin atlantic flights are cheaper than virgin holiday flights. They couldn't price match my package. My local travel agent did :) And takes us to Gatwick for free :)
I need to book flights for next October - so will be doing soon, and we use Virgin atlantic flights usually and WDW travel - the service is amazing! Have 3 rooms booked for 7 adults - my DS is sharing with us and we only have to cough up for his park tickets, as the rooms all cost the same! Will post how much total is for all 7 of us once we have it finalised.:D Nearly down to 365 days!!!!!

Perchance Virgin Isn't as bad as you have previously thought ?
And as an aside , Has anyone used DTD check-in and DME and how does that work ?
I've used both - DTD more than DME. Unless its changed, so long as you fly with virgin you can check in your baggage at DTD and it is labelled and ready to go - which gives much longer to enjoy the magic.:joyfull:

Used DME last time, Travel agent booked it for us, but you can do it on line. You provide your flight number and names and appear at the DME stop at the aiport - starts thar part of the holiday off really well. We ussually use DTD and then drive back to the airport later, but hink next time we may take the car back a day ot 2 earlier and stretch the disney experience as long as possible by using the DME, having dropped off luggage at DTD - but need to see how that pans out!

Coach transfers are available from TC & Thomsons..But cheers for your idea..
