Violence in Disney

Something else that I've always wondered about the parade...why do you always see a group of people following the parade? Disney always has CMs after the final float and there are always a hoard of people following them.
They wanted to go somewhere, but had to wait for the parade to pass. Now they're following the parade toward where they're trying to go.

I've been in that group. :)

Every once in a while my faith is restored however, once while standing with my DS and DW watching the parade a grandmother asked if her granddaughter could please squeeze in. She asked so nicely that we said sure and put the little girl in front next to our DS. Afterwards both grandmother and granddaughter thanked us profusely.

People are people even if they happen to be in the Magic Kingdom.
If you do not like it never leave your home.

Good tip already mentioned if you want to watch a parade, stay off Main Street.

I am with the guy that bypasses parades, parades do no mean much to me either.

It starts with mommy and daddy saying no to a puppy.

All goes downhill from there.

Thank you for fueling my puppy fever!

they are leaving the park. The parade is their run blocker so to speak.
Many times the parade is moving in the other direction...they're all moving towards Frontierland, which is curious because there are a few other ways to get there and not be held up by the parade...until the end of the parade.

One Little Spark...
Whenever I see a parade, I always try to be near or across from Country Bear Jamboree. In the past there hasn't been that many people in that area. I found that out when I took the keys to the kingdom tour, our tour guide said that 98% of people will sit on Main Street to see the parade.
That's exactly where I do it as well...just across from the turkey leg stand. Perfect spot. Snag a turkey leg, a soda and some chips, split with the kiddo while waiting for the parade, and snag a seat on one of the rockers or planters / decking for the show!

We steer clear of areas like this in the MK or else where. Even when Illuminations is over, we hang back and let the cart and strollers push there way through. By the time we leave a park at closing it is calm and pretty, it leaves a happy feeling when exiting. Bonus, no dreaded bus lines either.

Or we leave before the hoopla starts. That works too. We've been known to watch the fireworks from the ferry dock. It is spectacular too and then we just high tail it to the bus or monorail before the mass exit-us happens.
We did that one NYE. Perfect.

And Disney always has a few idiots. Nothing beats the 'gentleman' during gay days who parted his grass skirt in a queue for my 8 year old DS to see.....I had a lot of 'splain to do that trip.

I am not very tall myself so I will always let a kid in front of me so that someone else taller won't block my view or even better some one in a wheel chair.
I've never seen a parade because of my height...Everyone else feels they should be in front of me. So I end up so far away that I can't see anything.

My husband can relate to that. I'm much shorter, but I do let kids in front of me. The only parades we've watched in the past few years have been the MNSSHP and the MVMCP ones.

I guess I must be lucky because I have never heard any obscene language or had anyone try and push me out of my spot for the parade. I don't know if it's because we always go to the later parade when less people are there or what. We usually stand on Main Street about halfway down for Wishes and then just sit on the sidewalk when Wishes is over and wait for the second parade. We've only watched the afternoon parade twice and once was with FP+ and the other we walked into the park about 5 minutes before the parade spotted and there tons of places to sit around Town Square so we just sat there, no issues.

Personally, I think there is always too many people in the park to warrant just one nighttime parade, even if the parks aren't overly crowded. I think they either need to have 2 or don't have a parade at all. Even if there is only 10,000 people in the park and 6,000 want to see that parade, that's a lot of people to stick on one parade route.

Sometimes I am surprised it is not more violent @ WDW. I have been pushed, shoved, tripped, cut in front of constantly, run into with strollers, wheelchairs and ECV's, had soda, coffee and beer spilled on me along with ketchup covered fries and stepped in dog crap from a supposed service dog . Not once did I loose it, but I cannot imagine that most people would not resort to some sort of violence. To be honest, I would like too on most days. Every time I go to WDW I seem to loose a little more faith in humanity.

Is this Violence or just the selfish me me me people at their worst?
IMO I think that it is just people trying to cram a 2 Day park into one day and are trying to make the most of it?
Some people have no clue that to get a good seat they need to be there pretty early or its slim pickings.
I believe some times it is the ones that have been waiting for an hour or more and get moved in on that get the ugliest. HUH did that make any sense?
Like Nemo14 I only go to the party Parades now
GO RED SOX!!!!!!!!!
