Vinylmation - Late to The Party

Guys, I know I'm late to the party when it comes to Vinylmation (and I know even that is an understatement)...but I wanna get in before it's totally over. I started buying some figures through Amazon, etc. but I'm having a hard time figuring out where to buy these in Disney World Parks and how much they cost in park? Is it any cheaper to buy them on property versus online?

Sincerely,

I'd really advise against this. Vinylmation trading is over and Vinylmation in general is dying. To answer your specific questions, most figures are $12.95 in the parks. Back in the days of trading, you could buy a bunch of clearance styles from DisneyStore.com and trade them for better ones, but those days are behind us. Without trading, there's no incentive to buy blind boxes because you're screwed when you get doubles.

Thanks - I was mainly curious if they were indeed still selling in the parks...I'm not as interested in trading just looking for some guys to display on the work desk.

Understood, but without trading that can be a risky proposition. The sets are smaller than they used to be so the risk of getting doubles is higher. If you buy multiple figures, I'd recommend getting them from different series.

The Vinylmation Era is long gone with a few stragglers left behind on the Disney Store. I had seen very few in Mouse Gear on my last trip in June and there were even less in the Emporium. Frontierland Trading Post used to be a prime spot but they have vanished from there and just about every location.

I was so sad when I heard this! First vinylmation and then Disney infinity- what a soul crush!

Guess I'll have to turn all of my collecting attention to the new Disney Lego mini figures coming out soon...

PS- every trip I swore I wasn't going to buy more vinylmation and every trip I would buy just one or two of a new series, get hooked, and try to buy the rest. When I look back on my collection I can remember which trip it was and the joy of opening both Kermit and Piggy together at the sci fi dine in for my first purchases ever or collecting the Mickey Christmas Vinylmation or the anticipation as the new villains series would get released and wondering which characters would be represented. So so sad it's now over...
