Hello everyone, my family and I will be planning a first trip to WDW at the end of next year. Our party will consist of two adults, two 15 year olds and one 13 year old. Would you think the Villas at Grand Floridian will be a good choice?( Deluxe Studio) We intend to rent some DVC Points so it'll only cost around 238 dollars a night. Do you think it is worth it? Since we won't get daily housekeeping, will it be a lot of a hassle? Sorry for asking so much, but does anyone know the size of the pull down bed? Any feedback or suggestion will be greatly appreciated :) Thank you so much!

It's a great choice if you can get it, but rooms are limited and the resort is popular so you'd probably have to book by end of January with someone that owns at VGF so they can book you at the 11 month window. The pull down bed is "bunk size" which probably means 36-39 inches X 75 inches. How mch of a hassle you find the lack of housekeeping probably depends on how many in your family are slobs :D But you do have the option of paying extra for more housekeeping if you want, you can opt to have it every other day. In 2013 an extra day of "mousekeeping" for a studio was $30. I wouldn't be surprised if it were $40 in 2015, so assume that much and if it's less, then hey, more souvenirs.

The wife and I stayed in a studio for one night there in March. I tried the murphy bed for funsies and I fit fine and it was comfortable. I'm 5'11 and 145 lbs. With the split bathrooms, you shouldn't have too much of an issue. As others have said, you can pay extra for more mousekeeping, or possibly flag a member of that staff down and snag a towel from them off their cart if you ask nicely.

We took the VGF tour back in May, and while the studio is certainly a very nice setting, we thought that using the murphy bed would make it feel very tight. They didn't fold it down while we were there, but it looked like that if the bed was folded down, it would be quite difficult for anyone to walk between that bed and the main bed.
