Well I attempted but failed to be an advocate for some the oppressed Disney Villians.

I hope they are all portrayed as being evil and not misunderstood in this new land. No redemption or redeeming values.
As I mentioned up thread, IMO, the only one that could be just "misunderstood" is Cruella, who, like all the humans in the movie, didn't know dogs were sentient creatures.

Anyone with a leather belt is a Cruella.

Some villians are only 'evil' due to perspective, irrespective of supernatural abilities. Ursula, for example, provided a straight transaction that was accepted by Ariel : legs for her voice.

Now 'harvesting" cute puppies, souls, or absolute control of domains is in most cultures runs counter to 'good'.

And she even gave her good looking legs which she didn't have to

That is what I always say. Ursula made a deal and then just tried to collect what was hers. Sure she got a little power hungry at the end but her eels had just died. Have a heart!

I still think Villains should have gone to DHS. They could have done so much with it there. Maybe a much needed water ride. Another family ride and maybe a flat ride or two. And sure the coaster. Make that another offering for Halloween events.

I don't trust them to do anything that's not half-buttocks these days. Nice shiny coat of paint, press tour, but its still manure under the paint.

So you say Shylock should get his pound of flesh? Never a fan of the alternate point of view trying to make a bad guy seem the one who was wronged.

It fleshes out the character of the “bad guy.”

Otherwise you just have whiny little Kylo Ren pretending to be a victim and reacting…disproportionately.

just meant the contract didn't indicate what type of legs she got - could have been crab legs, or super hairy or anything - but she gave her some solid legs that fit her
Technically, we don’t know what the contract stipulates with regard to Ursula’s obligation since the entire section between the price and the potential duration of forfeiture is illegible in the film. 🤷🏻‍♂️
