Good Morning Folks. Now I ain't ever had the privilege to stay in a resort with your own balcony, tho planning to do so in 2014. For those lucky enough to have had this pleasure, which resort balcony has the most breathtaking views? :)

i have had balconies at most resorts in WDW. No doubt our favorite was Animal Kingdom Lodge. Looking out on a savannah and seeing animals everywhere cannot be beaten. i like the views elsewhere, always enjoy sitting on the balcony and just relaxing and appreciating the beauty of each resort, but Animal Kingdom Lodge was actually constructed with the views as the centerpiece of the resort.

And no smell from the animals, which surprised me. I told the kid's those animals are on the clock and only poop pixie dust per WDW orders.

THe only balconey I've ever had was MK view at the Contemporary, so I can't really compare resorts. That being said, we've done the Contemporay twice, both at Christmas, and the views are AMAZING. The water pageant, the castle with the Christmas lights, the fireworks, the neon lights in Tomorrowland, I could just go on and on. Nothing like finishing up a day at the parks, propping your feet up with a cold drink in your hand, just watching the Castle lights changing colors. Dang, now I want to go back, too!

I stayed at Old Key West in 2010 and we had a little balcony outside of our room. It was over one of their little ponds and was big enough to have two chairs. Ours just faced a bunch of trees, so nothing special, but it was nice to sit out there in the peace and quiet. We were on the first floor though, so I was a little nervous about alligators as we'd seen two floating by on our first day.... :p

I have to say my favorite balcony view has got be when we stayed at AKL with a Savannah view room. There is nothing like waking up in the morning and sitting out your balcony as watching zebras and giraffes wondering around. The view will never get old to me!

I've twice had patio views of Downtown Disney at Saratoga Springs which were also great. I tried to post a flickr pic here but everything I tried would not take. Anyone know how to do that?

Anyway, here's a video from my stay May 2012 with the view from the patio of DD.

My last trip was near UNI, at the very north of Int. Drive. The view was quite extraordinary.
Here's the view, from an unusual angle one sees from left to right the Contemporary, BLT, Space Mountain and the Castle:

Beach Club perfect views over Crescent lake, the Boardwalk with ToT in the back ground. I love having my morning coffee watch everything wake up, and my evening night cap watching it all closed down again. I know how Hatter feels, we last went in Oct 2010, I am in the process of organising Oct 2013, This web site has kept me sane in between visit. DH may disagree to the sane bit anyway. TTFN Jo

When I was a kid we stayed at the Polynesian twice I can't remember the view from the one room (probably just the garden area), but the other time we had a little view of 7 Seas and could see the Grand Floridian being built.
The other balconies I've had was at Wilderness Lodge and it was a woods view and we could see the monorail in the distance (barely), it was okay. Then at the Beach Club we overlooked the main pool area and could see the Boardwalk and Swan & Dolphin, it was a nice view.

I agree with Animal Kingdom Lodge! There is nothing like looking out your room or going out on your balcony and seeing giraffe's, zebra's, ostrich, antelope and more from your own wildlife preserve. Disney also planted african bushes, grasses and trees. It was like you were in Africa. There are also many Savannah views from different areas of the Lodge. While the other resorts are very nice, most people just can't go to "Africa" on vacation!

Slightly off topic, it's the balcony that sells deluxe to me more than any other feature. I just LOVE sitting on my balcony first thing in the morning and last thing at night (and at some point in between).

Beware though Hatter, a few of the deluxe resorts have tiny "standing room only" juliet-style balconies in some of the rooms.

In 2008, staying at the GF we had a castle view, you can't beat overlooking seven seas lagoon! We had the same view from the Poly in 2010 but we could also see Space Mountain! This Sept we stayed at WL and overlooked the pool, luckily we were the end room so we were close to Bay Lake which we had a good view of!

My favourite view was probably the GF stay!

I have had the pleasure of staying at OKW, BW and AKL - all of them had great views from the balcony.

My favorite had to be AKL - sitting on the balcony late at night, a glass of wine, the soft 'moonlight' over the savannah watching the animals... so peaceful, so quiet...so perfect....

At OKW, I always request a water view and ask for a certain building (I think it was 45) and the balcony would overlook the canal that took guests to/from Downtown Disney and Saratoga....very friendly people who would wave as they went by. Plus there were always some ducks wandering around and I love ducks!

Boardwalk has the great view of the lagoon and you could people watch as they walked up and down the balcony... when I stayed there this year, we were directly above Big River, so I could see what people were ordering. Unfortunately, this was also the worst experience I had with a balcony as the last two nights of my stay the people below me took to smoking on their balcony. I get sick from the smell of cigars and they must have been members of a cigar club because the stench never left. I could not even open the door as the smoke would permeate every aspect of my room. So, no enjoyment the last few days there.

I have also stayed at WL - but the balcony was nothing to get excited about. Loved the resort, but the view from the balcony was just trees. I can see that at home!

We have had the pleasure of staying at GF and POLY. Both had amazing views. GF was the best, on ground level, seeing the castle and monorail everyday. I just sat on the patio watching the monorail go by for hours. Mesmerizing.

We also enjoyed our first floor room at Poly. We had a view of the ferry going back and forth to MK with a mostly blocked (that island was in the way) view of MK. Loved it!

Our balcony was at the Shades of Green and had a view of the golf course. It is so quiet and peaceful after the busy parks. Lots of changes last week as they were getting ready for the tournament that started today.
