Vidia joins the other fairies at Pixie Hollow in the Magic Kingdom

My daughter loves the fairys, so we have the movies. In the first one, she's the main "antagonist" against Tink. She's kind of jealous and mean, which makes sense, since it seems they derived her name from the Latin word for envy "invidia".

They're pretty much the same, which I believe is why they don't get along very well. Maybe later in the "mythology" Vidia converts Tink to "The Dark Side", which explains her attitude in Peter Pan.

Are these movies even worth watching? I always assumed no because as with every other direct to DVD film, they typically stink! I'd be willing to give it a shot after the amount if years it took to make. And I am sure we will see some form of PH in FLE.

I am 20, and I watched it not too long ago because I was curious in seeing the result of Lasseter's influence on the project. It is clearly aimed at young girls, but it was not as bad as reported.

My opinion is they are better than the standard straight to DVD fair, but not good enough to be theater released. They're worth a netflix or something maybe, but don't put off other movies instead of these. Drop them to the bottom of the queue and if you get to them, you get to them. Unless you have daughter(s), then you could move them up. My toddler requests them as often as a lot of "better" movies.

Shouldn't Tink be jealous of the fact that Vidia is way hotter than she is?

100% agreed! Vidia....wow.

To anyone (specifically male) who says the Pixie area is only liked by kids and girls....well....they apparently haven't been to a meet-n-greet with these pixies.

Yeah I guess I'll have to see that live action movie version also even though it's a kids movie

I have never been to PH, but seeing Vidia makes me want to go. I am just not sure if I would do that by myself. Maybe I should take one of my young cousins to Disney so I have a good excuse to stay in line.

If they change the MPAA rating, I might see it :animwink:

Alone....not so much. I'm sure they get that a lot, but you don't want to be "that guy"

We had the excuse of being with our friends who had a little girl. They completely twisted my arm and I was forced to visit with the 3 pixies. Ugh.

I love this franchise to little bits and pieces, but I wish Disney could hire me on to their wardrobe department. I am a hobbyist costumer and it really nags at me to see my favourite characters represented with such poorly-styled hair and ill-fitted garments. :C Poor Vidia's shirt is practically a bag, and her wig is a mess. Now I have the urge to make my own rendition out of spite. (Vidia is my favourite fairy, next to Tink.)

And yes, this franchise is well worth the watch! There are a few "Wowwwwwww, that was cheesy!" moments (but aren't there in almost every Disney flick?), but as a 26-year-old young lady I can't get enough. I'm the most popular teacher at my elementary school because I decorate my office with Disney Fairies merch, LOL.
