Videotaping on Attractions

Must chime in again. As long as the camera is not annoying anyone, (which most modern cameras wouldn't, as long as you use your viewfinder, I say go for it!!)

As for noise????

The tower of terror depends on the cm, but tried milionaire twice and had a problem both times. Now taking the TT is a challenge but well worth it - Like everyone said as long as you have no external lighting their is not usually a problem. R & R do not think I could do that one -- HAVE to HOLD ON!!!!!!!!!!! How did you do it?????

I have this one also. I took the camera strap and wound it around my wrist several time, and tied it tightly around my arm, so even if I lost it, it wouldn't go far. THen i hung on with both hands. Don't worry about trying to look through the viewlens, just point the thing forward and hope it gets everything. :)

I've recorded all types of Disney and Universal rides and shows. I think the issue with taking ride videos is not because of copyright issues (how many people sell their home movies?) but because they don't want anyone to sue if the camera is ruined or you lose it. As long as you take full responisbility and don't annoy other guests, it's fine.

And if it does have something to do with copyright issues, I think the movies such as Star Wars and Body Wars are the most to be concerned about. 3-D movies can't be filmed because they're just made differently.

Don't Tape: Star Wars, Body Wars, or any 3-D movie, and you'll be fine.

Speaking of taping, has anyone hear ever taped Splash Mountain (including the drop)? I have (with a tight plastic bag around my camera.)

I have several times actually. I didn't put anything over the camera and it didnt' seem to bother it. All I do is at the very end of the hill when you get the worst of the splash I held it underneath the front of it.(I think that is the best way to say that:confused: )

That's what I do. The main reason for a lot of these "no video taping" prompts is, as has been said, external lighting and the fact that Disney does not want to pay for your video camera if it gets broken on a ride. When I video taped at TOT, I guess the tape got jumble a little too much b/c on the way down, it blinked out until we stopped going up and down.

I though they did want you to video tape because it could reveal Disney's Secrets?

It mostly has to do with the Copywrite of the Attraction, The Sponcers of the the Attaction, and wether it would be dangerous or anying to ohers.
