HI, I was wondering if you can recommend videos or shows for my 4 year old to watch with the characters on the, the way they look at WDW. We have been reading books and telling her about them but would love to see some shows and such with her. Not sure how she's going to react to them. We leave Nov 10 so can't order the DVD.

Thanks, Susan

We had a Christmas video that showed crafts and fun stuff. I don't think you can buy it any more. We also have one that was a sing along at Disneyland. You could look around for something like that. We've had ours a while since it's a video.

That's the one we have. It's on video though. My daughter loves it and used to watch it over and over. It's been a while though since she's 9 now.

Here is a great one. We have it and my kids watch it over and over. It is older, so you will have to order it. It is hard to find it in stores.

You can check your library for it too. I work at a library and we own it, there is also a christmas one that has the characters in it but I can't remeber the name, it is also a sing along one.

You might also want to check out youtube, I didn't look but I am sure you can find videos with the parades, shows, character meetings etc.

The downside of this one is that a few things they show are Disneyland exclusives. DS, 3, does love it though and there's also one within the Animal Kingdom that he likes even more. You may also want to check out the travel channel, they always run the WDW programs. I have them all on my Tivo and we watch them probably 1ce every 2 weeks to get that Disney feeling.

I just checked out the videos on the link posted above. I'm sure my kids would love these!!! Which ones would you recommend (for those of you that have them or seen them)? The Beach Party one and the Animal Kingdom one look like they might be good. I'd like to get the one from Disneyland but I can see my son asking to go there if he sees something different on it (and we're not going to DL anytime soon)! Thanks for any input!

And for the original poster - yes there are lots of videos on youtube of the characters. Just do a couple searches and you'll come up with some. I did the same thing for my son. I wanted him to be prepared that the characters were going to be bigger than him. I also got people to email me pics of their kids with characters so he could see other children with them and how much bigger they are. Our first day in WDW he wrapped his arms around Chip & Dale! He wasn't afraid at all and my son is very apprehensive of everything new!!! Best of luck! And don't worry if your child is afraid at first they might just need some time to warm up to them.

We rented them all from Netflix to decide if DS would like them. He wasn't a fan of the beach one, just not his thing. There was also one that had something to do with Fort Wilderness that he didn't care for. He LOVED the Animal Kingdom one so we went and bought it he must have watched it close to 100 times over the past year. Then a few months ago we bought the Disneyland one. There are some things that are different (like the Matterhorn and some rides in Fantasyland), but if your child has never been before they may not even notice when you arrive that things are different. My son noticed the Matterhorn because he said "I don't want to go on that ride."

DS (4) loves Campout at Walt Disney World and Beach Party at Walt Disney World. Disneyland Fun is also good for seeing the characters, but it is filmed at Disneyland......
