I agree Judi would be best. Patrick Stewart no, and James Earl Jones would cause too much confusion.Could see it now ..Wait are we on Space Earth or the Death Star ???:ROFLOL::ROFLOL::D

One thing to keep in mind is that Dame Judi is an ACTRESS, and should be able to summon the proper emotion needed to keep your interest for 20 minutes.

Yeah, like I said before, I think she's one of the greatest actresses of our time and I KNOW for a fact she can definitely act. Thing is, part of acting is movement, body language, pitch, tone, and in this case, it's only using tone and pitch. 3/4 of acting is the former two. Now, you take out part of the acting and leave only the voice, reduce to a documentary type voice, and you could see where the weakness might lie.

I, myself know that very well since I'm involved in theater, but if there's an actor who's doing a monologue and it runs more than 5 minutes long and the actor/actress, while presenting it, has a passive and slightly monotone voice is doing it...welll, that can prove to be boring.

All in all, I say to each his own, and if the rumor is definitely as true as it seems, then I'll save the final judgement call once I see the finished product.

I'm pulling for Jim Gaffigan to do the SSE narration now, maybe he'll go on into a tangent about cake? :p

"Wow, I can't believe I'm riding this ride, I really wish we were on Test Track, is the narrator wearing a thong? I didn't think that before, but now I do..."

idk about judi dench. I have NO doubt she will do a fabulous job, BUT, i love Jeromy irons voice. It will be tough for me to give up that deep bass/baritone sound. Something about his voice just really clicked. I just hope her sound doesnt distract too much from the whole ride experience.

Here's hoping that it will add to it rather then detract.

At first I didnt like the idae of Judi narrating SSE but its growing on me ;) I'm still going to miss Jeremy Iron's voice. :( I recently found a Walter Cronkite SSE video and I thought his voice sounded like a documentary from the 60s. So far I think Iron's holds the title for best SSE narrator but maybe Judi's will proove to be outstanding and surpass Irons.

here here....

side note, off topic: i watched The World is not Enough last night on FX i think. could have been another network. the only thing bad about that one is Denise Richards. the second she speaks...... :fork:

Goldeneye and TWINE were actually good Bond movies, but Casino Royale reminded us what a good Bond movie is.

Daniel Craig is James Bond, and Dame Judi Dench is M.:king:

One thing people aren't talking enough about is the musical score changing. I absolutely LOVE the finale song from this last version of SSE! It almost moves me to tears it's so good. I have it on my computer at home and when it comes on I just pause. I wish they didn't change it, but hopefully the new composer will throw it in there just a little to link the versions together.

As for narrator, like I said earlier in this post, I knew it was going to be female. Jeremy Irons will always be #1 SSE narrator for me. I just hope some of the famouse lines from the narration are still there.
