Wow! Thanks for posting the video. I haven't seen the lights yet this year, but I will next month, and I can't wait.

Absolutely. I would imagine that it has a much greater impact when one is standing underneath the lights. I'm truly excited to be going soon.

Any spirited reason you chose to name the thread as you did Steve?

Nice to see that they've expanded the use of the LED screens in the windows of the Chevy Building. the Candles and Stockings are a nice touch. And pretty neat effects on San Francisco Street, though some holiday images (somehow?) would be better than crazy vortex swirl Sliders type patterns and bars that move back and forth, Maybe next year?

I like on the opening of the video that the lights progressively move down NY Street, though I'm actually not crazy about the Angels just blinking on and off during the Music. It seems like a tacky light display trick that my neighbors might attempt.

Also, nice to see the Globe spinning, wonder if it will last all season this year.

Each dancing sequence has different effects on both the canopy and the new section with the angels. I just showed one sequence in that highlight video.

Fact is though, they have added a number of new features for this year's show, probably the most it has ever seen in terms of something actually new.

The RGB canopy lights are cutting edge, so that is great to see it being included.

Another THANK YOU for the video. Just called my wife into the room to watch it with me. We have great memories of previous visits to watch the display of lights. Great to see Disney included the Osborne family pictures too.
One question, Where's the black cat this year?

Wow! I've always enjoyed the show, but it looks so great this year with the new additions. I'm going to miss not going this Christmas, but booking our DVC resort in January for 2012 Christmas. We've visited several different times of year, but Christmas is still our favourite time. :)

Question: Has the Osborne Spectacle of DAncing Lights always been on until Jan. 7th like this year? I thought it typically goes until Jan 3rd or so. (Same question for 'Cinderella's Holiday Wish')

You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!

Black cat - that has to remain secret until at least December! ;)

yeah it is typically 3 or 4. You can see the previous years dates at http://www.wdwmagic.com/Attractions/Osborne-Family-Spectacle-of-Lights.htm

Cinderella's Holiday Wish end date always seems to fluctuate. At the moment I have it to Jan 8 2012

Not watching the video as I want to see them in person for the first time, but I've heard nothing but positive things about the additions. Big kudos to TDO for plussing an already amazing show! This is one area where Disney could have definitely rested on what it had, as what it had was excellent, but it decided to push the envelope further!

If the budget to do this came from eliminating the LoW then I think it is a resonable trade off. Not that it wouldn't be bad to have the LoW too but I see the thinking here.

Anyway, that is just amazing so congradulations to whoever made it happen.

So if I can understand this, Disney noticed that the canopy for the Osbourne lights was old and outdated (dare I say, obsolete) and upon realizing this, they invested the time and money in updating them, in less than a year, to an modern LED system (that is VERY cool looking).

Interesting. Most interesting...

No jt...no. With that logic, might as well close down Animal Kingdom because it will mean more money for the other parks.

I can't wait to see them next month. The one thing I would love to see is a 360 degree video of the lights. There are two lenses out there right now that allow you to take 360 degree video with your iPhone, so if you have an iPhone this would be a very cool video to record.
