Compared to the Little Mermaid area, I think the outside of the BatB area looks like crap. The look of the cottage just has a theme park, overstuccoed, too perfect look...nothing like what you would expect a cottage in the woods in France to look like. My opinon only.

The Mermaid Castle looks great. I love the rockwork of the castle...This section is really goign to look wonderful when it's completed.

btw, WDI needs to work on their video editting.

That video was not final production - just B roll footage. Just be happy we have something to at least see. Do you have to pick absolutely everything apart?

I was. :lookaroun

I also very much love the look of Carsland.

and TronTrack.

Well this is a good analysis on something that isn't finished yet. It certainly wouldn't make sense to wait until there is a final product before calling it crap. I really can't wait for Disney to announce their next big project after Avatar. This way I can know everything wrong about it before they even put a shovel in the ground again.

yikes. You must be having a bad day today if I'm getting under your skin.

Having a good day here. It is just not enjoyable taking part in discussion with people like yourself just hammering constantly that everything sucks. I'm not saying that WDW is beyond criticism, but others find a way to talk about these issues in a sensible and constructive way.

Unfortunately this is the way it is these days. Everyone is an expert on everything, and can judge things without even stepping foot in the place or seeing it with their own eyes. Shame really that some people are so closed minded.

Yet, we wonder why Disney doesn't seem to pay attention to its fanbase outside of retro merch and highly controlled D23 events. They cannot and seemingly will never be able to win over the fanbase. Media events that are made for the sole purpose to inform the uninformed get criticized because they don't regularly feature groundbreaking new attractions. If Disney reads these forums as much as we are told they do, then I don't blame them for ignoring us. When Avatar was announced, it seemed that a majority of people already shunned it. With not one piece of art, the fans decided that it is a failure. If the Disney Parks blog wasn't more for the casual visitor than they would have stopped these videos by now. However, today a casual visitor got very excited that soon they will be eating in the Beast's castle and could give a crap if the scale is off by a couple of feet.

Should I sugarcoat my opinions? Not share them at all? Offer one good opinion for every bad one I give? Are we only supposed to participate in threads concerning stuff we agree on here? I didn't realize we had such strict rules. I've never suggested that I'm "an expert" on anything, and I always state things as my opinion. I'm not going to pretend to like something I don't.

If I like something that Disney is doing then I'll come out and say so...but I'll also say what I don't like as well. While it might be a lot, I would say that my "positive" comments have actually become more frequent over the past 2-3 weeks.

Ticket Booth

That was actually a pretty insightful clip. Throughout construction, areas and buildings get called different things. There are working titles that change as marketing and research get involved (I don't know a single Imagineer that doesn't call Dinosaur "CTX"), and nicknames given to things as the project progresses. Here you see and Imagineer who's been around for about 30 years calling the reservation stand the "ticket booth". I thought it was a nice glance into the process.

Through the ticket booth (1:04) and in to the main dining? Is that a reservation area he is referring to?

I think the reservation stand/"ticket booth" is the stone-like structure to the left of the bridge, shown in the concept art/model here (scroll halfway down to see the photos: they show an open gothic stone "booth" on one side of the bridge (with something posted on it - a menu, maybe?), and a rock formation on the other (with "Be Our Guest" signage carved into it), as you approach it to cross into Be Our Guest). Just a theory...
