Victoria and Alberts' is it worth it?

I would add, that if it's after 5pm, every man should be in a tux. What are we, barbarians?

I'm fine with that. If you have to rent a tuxedo more than 3x you're better off just buying one. Tux's work great when you go to the theater and weddings and other black tie events. Just go to Macy's when they have a really good sale and you'll be fine. OR you can go to Mens Warehouse and rent one and it won't fit quite right and you'll have to deal with the pick-up and return which is annoying

I keep mine in my glove box. Never know when I'll need it.

Yes, it is absolutely worth it!! My wife and I have been to both the regular dining room and the Chef's Table. For a first time experience the regular dining room would be recommended. Our first time there lasted about 3 1/2 hours. The servers were awesome, and the food is simply the best we have ever had. I am also not a seafood lover, and they happily stayed away from there the entire meal.

Our next visit was to the Chef's Table on our anniversary, and they already had all of our food requests in their computer, so we didn't have to go over them again. Chef Aimee is an incredible chef! Chef Scott was off that night but we had no complaints about anything! Oh, and you can see Chef Aimee on a new Food Channel special - The Mauro's Magical Disney Vacation.

Let us know how it goes for you.

So, overall, that's a resounding yes then! Are there any other 'nicer' places to eat that people can suggest, will be there for two week and have been saving up for ages, so want to treat ourselves whilst we can.

I feel the need to go shopping for a dinner jacket and wear it under my clothes like superman forever more!

I have a reservation for next month for the regular dining room. Will I be getting a phone call, or is that just the Queen Victoria Room? Is it worth the extra courses/$$ to go for the QV room? I am not at all picky, but my hubby has certain "won't"s

It is absolutely worth it. And they cater to any dietary needs. My wife and I went for our 10th anniversary (we did the chef's table) and she does not like seafood and I don't do red meat. So, we were both pretty significantly off the standard menu. Everything was wonderful, the food, the atmosphere, and the service.

We have never been very adventurous eaters and it was well out of our usual price range (for comparison, our usual dining out menu is heavy on fish and chips for me and burgers for my wife). There was certainly nothing on the menu that we had experienced before (my wife's cold smoked lamb quickly comes to mind) and we were pleasantly surprised by everything.

My wife got the wine pairings and we shared a number of them (even though they didn't pair correctly with my courses) and I had simple non-alcoholic beverages.

We hope/plan to do it again when DD turns either 15 or 21 (and when we have enough $$ to do chef's table again!).

Get a reservation at California Grill and time it so you can watch the fireworks. Also make a reservation at the Brown Derby at DHS, enjoy a martini flight and pretend you're a star from the 30s.

If you want to hit the GF again, I highly recommend Citricos.

Cant wait too eat there in July. We have reservations for our trip this summer. Really looking forward to it. My wife has a gluten allergy, and we are not at all concerned about it. WDW is fantastic accommodating those with allergies. They are also very accommodating of there is something you just choose not to eat.

As far as other great places in WDW to eat: I recommend Narcoossee and Citricos at GF, Cali Grill at Contemporary, and the Yachtsman at the YC.

I forgot about yachtsman! Great food, although I prefer the ambience at some of the other restaurants.

Outside of the parks, I think the places we have booked are; V&As, Cali Grill, flying fish and the Todd English place. Any of those ones that we may want to re think about?

Yes, men are required to wear a jacket. Every man should own a dinner jacket, a suit and a tuxedo. They last a long time and you never know when you'll need one
Lol. Judgements for everyone? I live in the Florida Keys, don't own a jacket, a suit and have never worn a tuxedo despite my advanced age (58). Additionally, I don't own real shoes or long pants other than jeans. I make tons of money but according to you should be excluded from lots of places. Wow.

Keep Moving Forward
Jumping in late but we went on our Honeymoon and 5th anniversary and loved it both times. The staff was very nice and we had no issues not doing the wine pairing. We can't wait until the kids are both old enough for the kids club so we can try it again.

Good to hear the commentary on the wine pairings. DH and I are just not very fond of wine, so we'd definitely being going without the pairings. I worried because we've been to some fine dining establishments where the staff clearly didn't like that we'd rejected the wine pairings. I understand the sommeliers were experts on such matters, but I guess it really ruffled their feathers.

We went about a month ago and my husband initially didn't want the wine pairings. The server brought out a beer list and I didn't feel like they were looking down on him at all (he ended up going with the wine pairing in the end).

Also, we told them ahead of time we'd appreciate a menu with no seafood, veal or mushroom options and they accommodated us and didn't make us feel stupid for asking. :)

So you've never gone to a formal wedding? Not judging your seersucker suit and whatever else you're wearing, just saying in certain parts of the country it's good to have these items. I for one couldn't go to work in anything less than a suit & tie.
