My father in law purchased tickets last week for the MVMCP for Dec 16th. He was hospitalized today and will not be able to attend. My hubby and I would LOVE to attend but we both have to work. :brick: Any chances disney will refund him or could we sell the tickets?

I think the tickets are non-refundable. Per Disney Website

"The number of tickets available is limited. Events often sell out early. Tickets purchased within 10 days of event will be available for pick up at the Magic Kingdom® Will Call Window at Guest Relations. Tickets are valid only during specific event dates and hours. Entertainment subject to change without notice. Ticket types, entitlements and prices subject to change without notice. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.
†Remember: If you are under 18 years of age, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to dial this number."

A friend of mine recently had to cancel a trip only 3 days prior to departure because her travel buddy was so sick she was hospitalized. Disney was amazing and came thru with a 100% refund of their paid package with no penalties. The airline was equally awesome and gave them 100% credit for when they rebook the flights. The only part that was a total loss, unfortunately, was the MVMCP tickets. It never hurts to call & ask but I doubt they'll do a refund. Your best bet is to sell them if you can.

Call them and explain the situation to them. I have had tickets refunded in the past for the exact same reason, they were more than willing to because of the circumstances.

When you call, don't bother calling Central Reservations (the 407-W-DISNEY number). They'll just quote you the official policy, and they cannot make exceptions.

The people you want to talk to are the Ticketing Office. They actually have some leeway in making exceptions to the rules. Call the Main Switchboard at 407-824-2222 and ask to be transferred. (Make sure they don't try to send you to CRO, though) Just be aware that the Ticketing Office's hours are more limited than CRO. They're mostly a Mon-Fri 9-5 operation.

A number of years back we had to change the dates of our trip on fairly short notice, and wouldn't be there for the MVMCP we'd bought tickets for. The Ticketing Office handled an exchange for a date that worked with our new schedule.
