Wow! That's great.

I have to admit, the MYW looks good to me too.

If I had not already gotten a great rate (with Canadian at Par) I would certainly be rebooking with the MYW options.

We're going in May, guess it's time to figure out the cost savings soon. :D You are getting a good deal for $90 a night.

I remember the one and only time I went during spring break weekend. have fun. ;)

The savings are pretty unbelievable. The dining option is going to make sense for a lot of families, and eliminates the whole "my god how much are we spending on food???" worries that so many have.

It sounds like you guys are going to have a wonderful time!

I did the maths yesterday. It still seems to good to be true. The ticket prices for us UK guests look even better.

My only concern.... the meal package looks too good to be true. Will the menu be limited, because lets face it, to get the best value, guests will be ordering the most expensive items.

We won't know for sure until the reports start to come in (hopefully soon), but it seems to operate just like the meal vouchers and the prix fixe Fantasmic! meals. I think Disney can afford to do it because so many more families will eat all of their food with Disney instead of packing food/going off-site/eating cheaper by only eating counter service.

Unlike "real" restaurants, Disney's overhead is part of a larger picture - that $28 you spend on a steak at Le Cellier is a lot more profit than you might imagine. And food is indeed more expensive in-park than surrounding areas (but as I always maintain, is very similar to pricing at "regular" restaurants in other parts of the U.S.).

Add to that the fact that many people won't use it as fully as possible - especially the young pre-teens who are paying full-adult price. I can see how it will benefit Disney overall to make sure all of your dining dollars are spent with them.

The prices are great - and if you work it, you can really come out way ahead. It will likely go up sometime soon, though, I'm sure - so better to take advantage of it while you can. :)

According to the CM who booked us, the dining option includes over 100 different choices. The Disney website says the dining option includes 1 table service meal (starter, entree, dessert, non alcoholic or non specialty drink, tax and gratuity) which can be exchanged for one character meal; one counter service meal (entree, side and drink or combo) and one snack (popcorn, ice cream, pretzel, medium soft drink, etc.) per person per night.
You also can trade two table service meals for a dinner show or special restaraunt like Artist Point. :)

Magic your way definitely seems great for longer vacations. But for my upcoming trip it's ridiculously expensive. We're only doing 1 day at MK, 1 day at Epcot, and 1 day at Downtown Disney and then Ohana for dinner. So we only need 2 day tickets and it ends up being almost $64 per day!! But I guess it will pay off in the future when we do a week long vacation or something.

I cant wait to take advantage of the dining option. I cant see it being this cheap for long. It really is one of the best deals to date.

I'm still optimistic as to whether MYW is really any better. They're nice, but IMO there was nothing better than the Disney Club.

Remember there are several for MYW. The basic ticket is 1 park per day, Wtr Pks, DD, DQ and WWS are not included. Then you have MYW park hopper, where you are able to do more than one park per day but again only includes the 4 major parks. You then MYW PLUS which includes all parks, DD, DQ, Wtr Pks and WWS and you are able to go to several parks in one day. Then you also have MYW no expiration, which means if you have days left on your ticket you can use them on another trip. MYW PLUS is last yrs DreamMaker package.

http://www.mousesavers.com/mywplusdining.html. There is a PDF file on this site that shows more than 100 participating Walt Disney World Resort restaurants .

So far this is my only major complaing, there is only one participating restaurant in Downtown Disney. There are 25 less participating restarants then the old Wishes plan.

I would guess that this is due to the fact that the Downtown Disney Restaurants are not owned by Disney, and either lease the land, or have some agreement with them.

Yea that was my thought. But they had the agreement for the old package. Maybe the cost is so good the non Disney Restaurants can't do it.

Oh well, still going to Fulton's :slurp:

Wait a minute, so you're telling me I could eat a fast food lunch, grab a late afternoon snack, and have a nice sit down meal for dinner including tip for only $35? NO WAY. That is impressive. I'm wanting to plan another vacation for later in the year already and I haven't even gone on my vacation this month yet!

YUP! That's exactly right.... I think most people on Disney boards all over the Internet are looking for the catch!

I dont understand how they picked some of the restaurant's categories and how coral reef is considered a signature or whatever they call it. for example Le Cellier's prices are comparable to Coral Reef but you need to use 2 sit down dinners at coral reef and only 1 for le celier. it doesnt make much sense to me but one thing is for sure i will be saving room for desert no matter where i go :slurp:

p.s. 1,000 th post WOO HOO :sohappy:

Coral Reef is slightly pricier I believe (although they are very close). Must be something with the seafood vs beef.

Glad to hear that boldlyreal is taking advantage of the savings under this new plan. :)

I think it also has to do with the popularity. Although most times the crowds are similar, Disney has an easier time getting people into a huge aqauarium restaurant than a Canadian steakhouse. Therefore, make it seem more exclusive. I'm sure this is only a minor point, but it probably plays a role in the marketing. I think this system will be a good thing in the long run because, as sad as it sounds, it discourages short trips (or at least encourages people to spend on the no-expiration tickets when doing short trips which then translates into future trips). I also think it will help with the Orlando ticket price wars because anyone saying "Disney costs $60 for a single day" then gets the response "Yes, but look at how much you save if you stay longer" so it increases staying this way as well.

And I still am mad at all of you that get to go this year! 2006 looks like the first time for me. Oh well... 50th Anniv here I come!!! :sohappy:
