I am travelling to wdw later this year and for the first time I am no longer a dvc member. My Q is, is there really much differnece between a resort like pop century and one like Old Orleans I have stayed at the caribbean beach and but not at a value resort. On paper it doesnt look like there is alot in it?

POR gets my vote. Piano Bob is there at night in the lounge. I think the food court is better and the restaurant. I just love the atmosphere at POR. You can always go visit POFQ. Its just a boat ride away......

Fosse76...chill out. I never said that a value is like staying at a Motel 6. But yeah, when I stayed at ASMu last summer there were roaches but that is a story for another day. I have stayed at values and mods and prefer a mod for the reasons I stated previously. It would save about $375 to stay at a value but the benefits for me are worth the extra charge. Plus lets not forget every tour group stays at a value, too.

I never meant any disrespect to anyone staying at a value and I don't think anyone else on this thread said anything negative or disrespectful either. Plus, when you disagree with someone on a thread there is no reason to get all snippy about it. I was stating my opinions and you are too. Big whoop!

In March, I stayed in the Calypso section of ASMu. There were towels by the pool and a divider curtain between the bathroom and the rest of the room. These are pleasantly surprising amenities that I'm fimiliar with from the moderate resorts. If you are just sleeping and showering then you may want to consider value resorts to save $.

they both are nice. value rooms are clean, and have god service. But the moderates have the bus stops with out 100 people waiting, much better landscaping, better food court, better outdoor bar, private pools for each section, limited room service, and an all around more pleasurable experience. i stayed at POP, and we liked it, but we just like CBR more because of its quietness and the beautiful beach. they even have a sweet island in the middle which is always empty with hammocks, great place to chill out and watch the sunset and have a great cocktail. The fridges are a plus, because a 10 miute taxi cab away, you can get all your water, beer, milk and cereal, and save hundreds on food and beverages alone. I will say this though, you can get a free fridge at values if you request it, i have never been charged. We are staying at CBR in sept. two rooms, but well worth it, more space! cost was about $400 more, just got lucky i guess. good lick to you and have a great time!:)

Cleverocks summed it up verrry nicely. The few factors for us are covered bus stops, better/more frequent busing and larger rooms with double sinks (except CSR, I think). It really does matter.

Good luck.
Please don't put words in my mouth.

I never said that buses at Moderates are better or more frequent than at Values. It is a completely untrue statement. Disney Transport DOES NOT send buses more frequently to the Moderates as compared with the Values. False rumor.

Not putting words in your mouth...as I said it is FOR US. Next time I will seperate the sentences. The last time I stayed at WDW we counted 6 buses for 1 mod compared to the 1 for ASMu.
