they are both very similar just different theming, We usually choose Pop because they have their own bus as apposed to sharing with the other value resorts.
I never stayed at the AS because I had read some really bad reviews about them and so when we went value we went to the Pop. Never regretted it, everyone seems to love the Pop. You only have one bus stop, you are much nearer to EPCOT, DHS and DTD (and TL which is a first bus stop on the way to DTD), the food court is wonderful, the theming of course reduced because it's a value but it still is Disney pure.
We stay there for 11 days in 11 days!
I do have to say that the Pop Century is a very nice resort but the All Stars are still very nice themselves. If you are using the bus system :hammer: then you would be better off with Pop. They are refurbishing the rooms at ASMo right now so they ought to be even better by the time we go. But so far, with the Values, we have stayed at Music, Sports, and Pop. This next trip we are staying at the Movies and then the next trip at the AoA to close out our stays in the Value section. We always rent a vehicle so staying at the All Stars really isn't a big issue for us. And they are not dirty and "used" looking like people say in the reviews. Those are probably people that stay at Four Seasons and expect 5 diamond service and decided to go cheap one time. :king: LOL I have never had an issue at any of the All Stars and it has always been quiet, although admittedly we go during this time of the year (Sept/Oct) so the crowds are lower.
We've been to Movies and POP within the last 2 years. If we had to choose, it would be POP. I liked Movies gift shop better, but POP having it's own bus is good. You can't go wrong with one or the other because you'll be at Disney!
Yeah when it comes to the AS resorts and their bus line, you are better off staying in Sports simply because its the first place they stop. So between those two definitely POP.
I'd pick Movies because I prefer their food court, pool bar, and gift shop.
As for the bus sharing, it's such a non-issue at the All Stars. You can walk from one to the other. I don't see why people worry so much about that. Pop on the other hand, always seems overly crowded.
I say which ever one you have not stayed at. If you have not stayed at either then it is pretty much a coin toss. Throw it up in the air and heads=PoP Tails=ASMo. I have stayed at both and they both have there little things that make them good and bad. So do not let this bus scare make up your mind. To me PoP had the worst service. There was long lines and we had to wait for busses a few times. When we stayed at ASMo it was pretty much walk on. Now it could have been time of year that helped with that. So it can go either way so just flip that coin and enjoy because either place is just Magical.
I have stayed at AS Music and Movies as well as Pop. I would go with Pop! Great theme, nice food court, one bus stop. We enjoyed our stay there. I have been at the AS resorts when Pop Warner was there and it was awful. I have been there when they were not there and it was much quieter. They are not bad resorts over all but I prefer the rooms at Pop. Enjoy your stay.
I have stayed at both, and overall the two resorts are very similar. However I would probably stay at the Pop Century, it's newer and looks a little nicer and you can catch a glimpse of the construction of the Art of Animation Resort. Also the buses from the All Stars, get a tad crowded since they all share the same buses, and since Movies is the last stop of the All Stars you may not find a seat.
